Where are you located? I’m in Virginia and I haven’t been able to catch any yet this year. The water still feels cold for how warm it has been recently.

Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Got a picture of the baitfish? Maybe a Logperch or some other kind of darter?

After piddling around with a plumbing leak from 4 am to 4 pm that involved destroying my ceilings

Dam son! Sorry to hear that. Sounds like you couldn’t locate the leak or just kept chasing new ones after repairing 1. Sorry to hear that man.

I’ll be down to help you with the ceiling 👊

As the entertaining Hawk Harrelson says "You can put it on the boaaaaaaardddddd.......YESSSSSS!!!!!"

Finally fishing for the first time all year. Mostly bluegill and shellcracker were caught. But I did get this 2 lb bass on an ultralight with a 1/32oz Jighead and minnow. Saw it sitting by an old weed pile that hasn't out its green back on yet and decided to see if I could coax it rather unconventionally. It kept taking little nibbles, but with each one my confidence grew that I could get it to commit, and sure enough 20 minutes later, the jighead and minnow were inhaled.

That was a really satisfying catch since it had been since october last time I went, and also due to being patient and sticking with what I thought would work. Certainly not my biggest, but so satisfying. Glad to be back on the water.

That's 100% what it was. I kept googling it as two words and not getting good results lol. I knew we had some in texas but I have never seen one in the wild. Neat experience. 99% of the bait I get in this way is shad

Warm, sunny day. Air 75, water 51. Good SW wind. Couldn't get any along the bank. Caught 2 on a jig in 7 fow. The other 17 came on a spinnerbait high up over 8 fow. These bass were sunbathin'!

First bass of the year. Got 3 today all on Ned rig. Haven’t caught anything in lakes yet so I’m hitting the ponds that have warmed up. Getting close to prespawn here in Spotsylvania, VA.

@Jigfishn10 , first few hours was sopping up water. Then the next few was cutting open ceiling finding the leak. It was between a joist and some dead wood that only an iPhone would fit in from the laundry room.

IMG-6421.jpg

Went on the other side of the wall into the bathroom and had slightly more room to work but not much. Again between a joist and dead wood. I was able to find the leak there and actually touch it with my hands instead of taking pics with my phone and reviewing them 😂

Couldn’t spin my pipe cutter all the way around in the tiny space and had to work blind by feel the whole time because my head wouldn’t fit in there. Had to take the blade off a hacksaw and Work it back and forth with my fingers to cut the pipe. All while standing on a vanity. And not standing straight up because that would mash my head against the ceiling so crouching the whole time. Kneeling on the vanity was barely too short. I could have been the star of a film called “crouching plumber leaking copper”

Luckily the ceilings are already two tone in several places 😂, I’m guessing from previous leaks. Somehow all those solder joints that have turned blue held even with me basically doing chin ups on them to get a clean enough cut in that tiny space. The leak was a pinhole but it was a rager, enough to spread water all over the floor of 3 rooms and an open area.

@Brycecover , if you were asking me where I’m located, in east TN

A warm 78 degrees yesterday with plenty of sun and wind, but the bass acted like they had never seen a bladed jig before, so it was a fun afternoon. Water temps already up to the high 60s. Here’s a few out of about a dozen.

If that isn’t perseverance, I don’t know what is. Glad you were able to get it, bud!

Got to my spot just after daybreak. 55 and over cast. Started in the NE corner of the pond and caught 4 in row with a Berkeley Frittside crank bait (my first with that bait and with a flat side in general). Moved to

the SE corner to fish around some lay downs but that was a bust so I doubled back and continued fishing along the northern bank. Tried to get a bladed jig bite going and it took me a few different color/trailer combinations before I settled on a white mini max with a 3” mayor in sight flash. Caught the next 9 with that. Including my biggest of the day.

Managed on more with the flat side before moving to another pond. That one was a disappointment as I only caught another 4 dinks.

Also I don’t know who needs to hear this but the ticks are out, prepare appropriately.

IMG_8917.pngIMG_8918.jpegNew PB 6.12 caught at a pond on a 3/8 evo bladed jig black and blue with green pumpkin trailer. Only one I caught at the pond today despite seeing many other fish. The ponds seemed to have warmed up quickly but I’m not sure why the others wouldn’t even bite a senko.

Thick fog today. Air 53, water 53. Only caught 4 but they were nice, fat ones. Spinnerbait on stumps in 2 fow.

Congrats on the pb! Great looking fish. I’ve been catching them on an EVO as well.

Nice fish!!! Things are warming up here I Iowa. But man did you see the weather for the weekend ugh it’s cold again. I haven’t had any luck on any good sized fish yet this year

I don’t know if I have a #1 way that I like to catch bass, but if I did, catching them on a Spinnerbait around shallow timber would be a competitor for that spot.

After school conferences I got out for about 40 mins. Weather kinda goes to crap after today and will be cold again till middle of next week. And a flipping chance of snow Sunday. But got two tonite on the bladed jig. I’m really liking the bladed jig a lot. And they are inhaling it when they hit. Steady slow retrieve with some Twitches of the rod tip.

@Brycecover Big congrats on the new PB. And who said your trailer has to match the color scheme of the jig & skirt.
