Today I caught my first 8" hudd fish... after over 100 hours fishing it over the years. I've caught fish on bigger baits but for some reason I could never get them on the traditional slow bottom crawl

Had my boss and his son over today . Primary goal was bream. The 2nd bream Alex hooked , as he had it almost to the dock , a bass clobbered the bream and he hooked the bass right in the corner of the

  • So I went fishing today, and caught a 9#. Scale bounced between 8-15 and 9-2, but let's call it a 9, shall we? NLMB trout eater.   Super slow rolling a 8" weedless on the bottom in about 15

Got this big girl on a jig, between a dock and a pontoon on a hoist.  What a crazy fight, considering I had about 8 inches to work with between boat hoist and dock.  It pays to spend the dough on Sufix 832!

Close to my PB, it went 22".  I put her back, of course.

Sufix 832 is all I use. 30lb on my spinning rig and 40lb on my baitcasters. Really good braid.  ?

Indeed.  Once I tried it, I have never gone back to anything else.

Only a 3 pounder but it was the first cast of the day on the first time throwing the Rico popper.

A fun bait to throw....

Caught a few walking the banks. This one was the only non-dink.

Reading about other people's 70-fish days, I just can't even imagine... you all are catching monsters. Took about 8 hours in grueling heat on the home lake to land six fish. Best of which is here, a largemouth on a Texas rigged 5-in black/blue-flake worm fishing a dropoff at a tiny island. Worth it? Totally! :cheer:

Right on, same here. I used to use 50lb Power Pro Spectra until I was given a spool of 40lb Sufix 832 when I was working at Rat-L-Trap by the boss man. Been using it ever since. ?

High in the low 90s with heat indexes over 100, so called it after 40 fish. Fish in this little lake are fat and healthy, and put up one heck of a fight, but I haven't found any of the big girls from last year yet. Looks like the deepest water is only 7 or 8 feet, and we had a pretty severe winter, so I'm hoping they didn't die off. Got some solid chunks though today. As always, all my tackle went in my back pocket, and thanks to the Elaztech, I only had to use 2 worms today B)

Happy 4th fishing with a classic lure. Caught these Bass on a Heddon Baby Torpedo. It was the only lure I could think of that reminded me of the fourth of July fireworks. Top water bite was on as the temps climbed to around 95 degrees.

The top Smallmouth was wrapped in someone else's fishing line. I was able to cut it off before releasing him.

i have a tiny torpedo in that frog pattern myself ?

About time I stuck a half-decent fish here.

Finally got on some smallmouth this evening after work. Only had about 45 minutes of light, and only caught fish in about 15 of that. Caught three, hooked but lost two others, and had one maybe pound and a half follow worm right up to the bank on a straight retrieve. That one clued me in to how they wanted the presentation though, and the next dozen or so casts resulted in 5 hookups. All from the same spot on the bank!

Another milestone... The pic is my first ever Ned rig fish! I kinda like this little turd worm.

First ever jig fish. Falling in love with this style of fishing. Didn’t even know she was on, but I had a gut feeling that it wasn’t a rock. Set the hook and up she came.Great fight. 2.64lbs  and 12 inches.

I love the color of that fish. Fairly clear water?

If it's the lake I think it is, yes, usually 10+ feet visibility. It tends to get a kind of blue-green bloom in the water around this time of year. Tons of deep grass though, so the fish have plenty of places to hide.

Thanks! Yes, pretty clear water; and yes, Ragged.

Got out for a few hours after 6 pm. Decided to fish close to home on the shallower end of the lake. Its been rather cool for July here so the fish were a little more active than they normally are on a July afternoon here.Caught 3 in the first hour, then caught 5 off one isolated eel grass bed in 20 minutes . Caught them all on watermelon red super flukes. All were around the same size. Nothing big this time.20180706_204013-966x1288.jpg20180706_205322-1288x966.jpg

Tried the frog after dark for awhile, but nothing doing.

But it was a nice, refreshing time on the water.

Ribit Ribit! I stayed away from the Senko finally. I picked up my other crutch a frog. After the sun went behind the trees they started slamming the frog. I got 6 in probably 45 minutes. There's nothing better than 65lb braid and throwing a frog into the thick slop!

This girl went 4-5
