Uh, no surprise the colts ( mares ) got beat, I mean really? Honestly, I'm not sure in 40 years of NFL football if I have ever seen a more incredible game ( turn of events ) as the Seattle/Packers game...

New England's talent vs. Seattle's luck.

Cheatin Pete may win another one.

The Patriots played well on both sides of the ball for 60 minutes.

The Sea Hawks defense played well as expected allowing them to win a game they should have lost. It was not a good game for either team though. I expected to see two great teams at their best. The only great team playing Sunday was the Patriots.

Just remember, the Kansas City Chiefs beat New England 41-14  :eyebrows:   If the Chiefs can beat them, anyone can, especially considering those same Chiefs also beat the Seahawks and then lost to the Raiders! I'm hoping sometime in my lifetime they'll put together a decent season, hasn't happened yet.

Seattle never quit and yes luck had it's hand in there also.  But then luck happens for all teams at one time or another....it's just whether they capitalize on it.  Seattle did.  For some reason they didn't show up until the second half...but they did and they done good.  Looking forward to watching them in the Super Bowl that they weren't supposed to be playing.....at least according to many self proclaimed experts in the sport many weeks ago.

There that's my worthless two cents....and look forward to reading much more.

Want to bet on the Super Bowl? It's easy this year. Just pick a winner.

The Super Bowl XLIX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks line at Westgate in Las Vegas and the Caesars Entertainment properties opened as a pick 'em, which means there is no point spread for either team to cover, as neither is favored, at least initially. The initial over/under total at the Westgate is 48.5.

According to Jeff Sherman, an assistant manager at the Las Vegas Westgate sports book, and Dave Tuley, who writes for ESPN.com, the consensus as the Patriots put the finishing touches on their 45-7 win over the Indianapolis Colts was that the line was a pick 'em. Although Tuley said MGM properties had the Patriots as a 1-point favorite.

I'll be rooting for the pats but  they don't appear to have the athletes to attack the Seattle defense.  It's a bad matchup for them IMO if you look at player by player. Their D is going to have to play out of its mind.

Deflated balls or not, the Colts didn't have any steam coming into the playoffs, don't see how they were going to look good at foxborough

Let's get the party started. Super Bowl week starts now!

Who's making what for the game? Is anyone here going

to be in Arizona?

:coach:

I am smoking some brisket, ribs and pulled pork...as long as the weather in the mid-west continues to play nice...lol

and go PATS....

It should be a good game.  I always watch the Super Bowl no matter who is playing.  I think we are having our usual Taco Bar.

My friend from Seattle that hosted my wife and I for the Niner/Seattle game will be going to the SB.  For the second year in a row.

I don't have a dog in this fight, so may the best team win!

I'm not going to the game but have a (somewhat) vested Interest In the game as Seattle has three(3) N.C. State alums starting. Starting QB Russel Wilson, Offensive lineman J.R. Sweezy, and the kicker Steven Hauschka. :) Go 'Hawks!

  • Super User

Haven't decided on what the game day chow will be yet.

But I'm hoping that the Patriots will be dining on some Seahawk.

as far as food goes, still working on a menu.  we are thinking of going heavy on the appetizers and maybe some nice fresh ground burgers or something similar.  That could al change if i see a nice brisket when i go get the other stuff :)

The ProBowl is being played in the same stadium? What happened to Hawaii? I always wanted to go to a ProBowl there and enjoy some beach time as well!

Most likey cost too much for not enough viewership

  • Super User

they changed it when they  moved the pro bowl to the week before the Super Bowl instead of after.  I also think it has to do with the lease expiring there too.
