Favorite Type Of Jig?

Featured Replies

Hey guys I was wondering what your favorite style of jigs are? I prefer a 1/2 oz. swim jig all year long.

Out of all the jigs I've tried, which isn't a whole lot, I've had the most success with the strike king structure jig in 1/2 oz black and blue.

That is a tough one, I have a lot of fun dragging a 5/16oz finesse jig over rock flats but I really love pitching a 3/8oz or 1/2oz Arky head jig to laydowns and flooded brush. If I had to choose I'll have to go with the finesse jig, more versatile and gets bites in tough conditions.

3/8 brush jig or 3/8 arky jig (from siebert of course)

I really like Mop Jigs and Arky Jigs. The Mop Jig is my big fish bait but it is terrible at working in thick cover. Its get hung way to often. Just got to be honest about it.

The Arky Jig is a great all around bait but I use it for the thick stuff. For such a cheap bait, it has a strong weedguard and hook.

1/4 ounce pepper jig in original pepper jig style, green pumpkin.

1/2 oz arky head with living rubber skirt

1/2 Brush Jig

3/8 or 1/2 oz. Siebert Brush Jig Black and Blue

Seibert's 1/2 oz Dredge jigs. I used them for the first time last year, the Owner hooks on these jigs provided me with some awesome hook sets. Didn't get to the lakes much this year, but come spring I hope to be pitching these jigs from the yak.

5/16th oz finesse football head.

The most prolific fish catching jig I ever used is a crappie jig.  I use them for bass, peacocks, mackerel and many other species, I tie my own.  I do like to use a flats bonefish jig for bass and peas too.

A totally different type of jig, a Shimano waxwing, made for freshwater too.
