Yep, been doing it for over 10 years now. The bait monkey is bad enough when you have to pick from stock colors. Once you get to create your own combinations it gets that much worse! It's fun to do though and after a lot of trial and error you end up with some real winners :)

Yeah I can totally sympathize- I just got bitten hard by a similar monkey- I have a ton of really nice airbrushing stuff- pumps, guns, hoses, tables, clamps, paints out the wazoo, texture kits, etc. etc. etc. sitting around from a past hobby and just pulled it out of mothballs to restart my love for intricate paint and foil techniques.  I just ordered a 10 lot of some of my favorite crank blanks, a bunch of custom feathered trebles and I'm having a go at some of my favorite looks myself.  I figured it'll help me get through the wintertime while my fishing stoke is still high but I'm still months away from making a cast.

Pretty excited to get back on it to be honest...  I love making things myself- every detail is yours to control.

Got a unicorn/bigfoot coming in the mail as I type this.

There are a few on this thread who will know what I'm talking about. ;)

Hinkle?

A bunch of Hart Tackle Jigs and spinnerbaits. They are my new favorites now over Booyah. I still like the Booyah, but the Hart Tackle baits have better Blades IMO. The Jigs were a good price and came w/a chunk trailer. I will be using them mostly for flipping shallow cover, but I will also ad a swimbait trailer to one and swim it when their is a good bluegill pattern developed. This year I have bought much more than I have in the past including 4 reels, 4 rods, numerous crankbaits, soft plastics, and topwater lures, and my dad has bought quite a bit as well. We have also fished this season more than we ever have before, instead of shooting as much on weekends, partially due to 22 shortages still having effects. We plan on fishing much more next season, and I still have about 20 baits I am looking to purchase, as well as 2 more rods, 2 reels, and a fishing Kayak. The good thing is I have plenty of time in the spring/summer/fall to play with my new toys. Most of my time suck comes in the winter, so I am one of the few who "uses everything in the tackle box".

My girl bought me 2 more jigs to add to the 50+ I already have. I barely am able to fish them due to crappy algae in florida lakes and canals, but they look so pretty. I lose one, buy 3...sigh. I think some BBZ1s are next on the list and some other stuff that I know that I dont really need.

I know exactly what you mean, I have this thing with jigs, I just can't stop buying them even though I have WAY to many already. Case in point I went by the shop last Fri to just "look around" and picked up two more. Also picked up a little terminal tackle for some finesse fishing and the bait I'm really looking forward to fishing the new Jackall plug.

The flea bay killed me last week.  Ended up winning a steez 100ex for 305 and a zillion for 170 both NIB.  It would have been easy to explain one box but two in the same week means she is going shopping and i lose twice.

Last night I blew a wad on a bunch of jigs at Seibert's, and next week I'll blow another wad on some of his Cosmic spinners. To quote J Francho "I can't wait until Spring"

P.s. pics to come.

I thought so too!  Today, ordered a Lew's Tournament MG and a jig(to get it over $100).  After rebate on the reel, only gonna cost $55!

Great deal, I just recieved my rebate yesterday. Took about a week and a half, not bad.

Whatever you do...  DO NOT WATCH THIS VIDEO.  It contains ninja bait monkey propaganda that you will not be able to unsee.
