First 2 Baits Out Of Your Panic Box?

Featured Replies

I think most of us have read Ike's article about his "Panic Box".  I have not made a panic box, but there are some baits I will throw when I feel like nothing elses is working.  For me its an 1/8 oz T-Rigged Lil Critter Craw or a 4" Centipeed on an 1/8 oz Spot Remover, both fished super slow.  Ive caught so many fish on those baits its crazy.  If there is a cold front or nothing else is working, what do you take out to boat a few bass?

Dropshot. Even in the worst conditions a dropshot puts fish in the boat

As much as I don't enjoy fishing painstakingly slow. I'll throw a 4" stick worm weightless wacky if I need to boat a few fish.

The cooler?...ya know that place where the cold beer is??

I usually go to my finesse box when i am panic mode or to the reaction baits

It really depends on what i have been trying that day

I don't need two baits, I'll take one bait with three rigging options. A 4" finesse worm nose hooked on a drop-shot, the same worm wacky rigged on a 1/16thoz. wacky jig, or the same worm on an 1/8th oz shaky head. If it's windy, I'll adjust the drop shot weight as needed, bump the wacky jig up to 1/8th oz., and the shaky head up to 3/16thoz.

Zoom Trick Worm.

Fluke then senko. Two really versatile and proven baits for me.

At first, if I start to panic I start to cover new water w/a spinnerbait. Blade and color based on conditions and forage. Then from there I pick apart w/a light shakey head or T-Rig

1. wacky rigged senko (PANIC)

2. berkley powerbait power worm in red shad rigged weightless

"Ned Rig" and a hair jig...but neither is in a "panic" box - they're year round staples.

senko and jerkbait will always trigger strikes when fish are inactive.

Senko

Trickworm

Sorry, I don't panic....

I don´t have a "panic box" for a very simple reason, I never panic.

Crank phone, dynamite

I don't panic over fishing (except maybe when I fall in when wading in a deep and fast river...) but when the chips are down, I throw a wacky Senko.  If I can't get anything on that, I figure it really doesn't matter what I throw next (which is usually a spinnerbait).

Tight lines,

Bob

I don't panic but when I need to catch a fish I'll either be fishing a shakyhead with a trick worm or dragging a jig.

Panic lures....beetle spin and a chartruese curly grub 2"

Original floating #7 Rapala C-rigged. #3 Mepps squirrel tail. I really have a hard time dead sticking or slowing down much more than a C-rig.

Like Alonerankin2 & Raul, I don't panic, neither am I afraid of being skunked!
