Don’t think this has been mentioned, but Omnia has 20% off code SANTA20 right now - excluding rods, reels, electronics.

Just wanted to drop in and say hi to you all. I'm not as active 'round these parts anymore. Haven't bought anything in about 5 month. Haven't had the boat out in almost 5 months. Really sucks, but it'

Anyone know what's up with Omnia and this $2 "Free Returns + Package Protection" they are automatically charging?  I don't think that's how FREE works....

You can opt out of it.

Yeah I don't love it since competing retailers don't do that.

They're also charging MI sales tax now which is a bummer.

I bought a gift card on the Black Friday deal and it might be the last money they get from me.

I got turned off to Omnia when they had their Woo Tungsten sale a couple weeks back. 2/3 of the weights/styles I wanted were Out Of Stock...with no backorder. How can you have a sale when half the stock you put on discount isn't available?

Same for me, only a $60 gift card for 50 bucks fortunately... but now free shipping isn't until over $100.  I also gave up my Pro Membership when it expired.  Do their Rods/Reels go on sale, seems like they are always excluded.  Now gonna just look to pick up a $100ish reel for my son to use up the gift card and get the free shipping.  Have few months until his birthday, not for Christmas...

I miss the days of Omnia offering one level of Pro and giving you the purchase price back in credit.  I haven't renewed (or ordered) since they quit.

I was a regular with them;  now deleted from my go to sources.

Cancelled my pro membership. Haven't ordered since the merger and the started charging sales tax.

Used to be included minus the normal and expected MAP policies.

Now it seems all rods and reels have been excluded from recent sales and that's unfortunate.

I don’t blame companies from doing what they have to to stay in business but the value for the consumer has decreased.

So maybe not worth waiting for an Omnia Reel sale...?  So not sure how to finish out this gift card before I write Omnia off forever.

Any rec on a $100 spinning reel from elsewhere, or one on sale at another site right now for holidays?  Looking for my son, but have a few months (not for Christmas).

I checked that place out once. Boy did it look kinda sketchy. LOL

Shelton's is great - I go in their store a lot - very good people and very legit

I doubt I'll renew, hasn't been a good sale in a while now. I used to buy from then almost exclusively, but all good things must come to an end. I'll be taking my nap data and moving on

Went through the 12 days of savings list on TW seeing if I could convince myself to get enough things to hit free shipping....could not. I declare temporary victory over the bait monkey.

I lost (again). But honestly not a bad haul for $53 considering you get a free promo pack of bkk hooks and a free lobina topwater lure. The rest of the stuff was almost all stuff I use regularly and the total discount was around 30% (with some good discounts on the 5" daingerous unloaded and gamakatsu hybrid hooks that I like) so not a bad haul although I agree the sales this year in general didn't seem as good as they have been in previous years. Having said that I also get the frustration with the sales not being as good but also get how this year probably threw a lot of business owners a curve ball and would rather see some smaller discounts if it's between that and people get laid off. One thing I did pick up that I haven't tried before is a mini swim jig from Missile but one of my favorite spots is pretty much always stacked with bluegill and the grass is down just enough right now that I'm betting I'll get a couple on that thing.

That’s not doing what they have to to stay in business. It’s poor choices driving away their customers. I’m sorry but if TW has a sale on something (even secret where it only shows up on your receipt) you had better match it. I’ve switched to copperstate tackle and haven’t looked back.

I live in MN - so I have been a supporter of both Omnia and Thorne Bros. - my hope is that as they navigate their merger they will find ways to retain and grow their customer base - the "fishing industry" seems quite competitive - and it seems like a volume driven industry (my guess is small profit margins on individual products, so you need to have high volume to generate $$) - I have a PRO Membership thru next October so I will monitor and weight the pros/cons of renewal between now and then

The Hook Up Tackle has some good buy something get something free deals going on.  20% off gift cards starts Sunday morning.

HUT is growing on me as others have faded.  If you haven't watched their YouTube channel it's worth checking out.  It's my favorite channel of the bass tackle stores.

I've been seeing it a lot more with a Scheels order too. It seems to be the "new" thing. Obviously you can opt out but my main reason for doing it was I have a Chase card that gives me that protection, damage and loss on delivery,  up to $500 per order

Most folks never realize they already have this sort of protection and “waste” the $2. I find it shady and unnecessary.

Does the The Hook Up Tackle charge sales tax?

If not, I'm going to hit this offer up BIG.

I recently ordered a Daiwa Ballistic mq from them and wasn't charged sales tax.

Couldn't tell you, my state doesn't.  Any place I order from in the US won't have sales tax.

North 40 outfitters has the tatula xt rod for $70 with free shipping. After learning my order was not possible after 14 days from sportsman’s warehouse this was a pleasant surprise. I’m not positive but I believe they have other rods and reels 30% off.
