They aren't giving a break because they feel bad you're paying taxes.  They do it because many use the IRS as an interest free savings account, and get a big refund.  Retail stores clamor for that refund money.  Hence the term "tax stimulus."  The refunds stimulate sales in the retail sector.

Yeah I know that...I was just kidding!

Especially furniture stores. Their sales/promo's during tax return season are off the charts. It's like black friday to them.

I do throw a lot of Power Worms though - 10" usually in Tequila Sunrise.

You can never have too many worms.

Looking on eBay this morning I found a ton of Daiwa Tatula ct type-R for sale for 30-40 dollars. Anyone know why they’re so cheap all of the sudden?

Nope. They are for sale for 35 dollars with free shipping not on auction.

That's crazy. I got mine last year on ebay for $110 I think. Is it a reputable dealer?

And looking at your profile, it's eerily similar to mine.

Are they shipped from New Zealand from a seller with little to no ratings?  I recall some auctions like that....and most likely they are bogus.

Edit: Found the listing, it looks legit, left handed. I ordered one for my dad.

The seller is from Texas and there’s an optional warranty offered with it and claims to be authorized dealer with 100% feedback. There was 1 time I bought something on eBay and a couple days later got a message saying the sellers account was compromised and I was given A refund so I suppose that’s a possibility.

Lefty only.  I am a Lefty, but do everything but write, eat and shave right handed.  Oh well.  Love my CT-R.

I’m right handed but I grew up fishing spinning rods. So I always use left hand baitcasters. Just feels better for me not having to switch hands

They are listed as Brand New 2016 models so maybe they are holdovers from a couple years ago...still a heck of a deal!!!

Only 13 reviews on seller....I'd be careful.

This is the listing I purchased from: https://www.ebay.com/itm/273130252672?ViewItem=&item=273130252672&ppid=PPX000608&cnac=US&rsta=en_US(en_US)&cust=0K728989F8632263G&unptid=66196a46-31d2-11e8-8244-d4856454d6a8&t=&cal=7d5544665aa42&calc=7d5544665aa42&calf=7d5544665aa42&unp_tpcid=email-receipt-auction-payment&page=main:email&pgrp=main:email&e=op&mchn=em&s=ci&mail=sys

Seller has been a member since May 2013, and 39 out of 49 star rating, 100% positive feedback. Not a slam dunk profile, but for $35, it's a worthy gamble.

They've sold 6 in the past couple of hours so people are buying them...man, seems too good to be true and you know what happens when that type of deal is available...it usually IS too good to be true but with it being on eBay they will cover you should the item not be as advertised.

Yea eBay protects buyers so if it would be fake you would get a refund. Before I seen it I bid on an auction one for 40 dollars. If I get outbid I’m gonna order one of these.

That seller on eBay only has feedback as a buyer/customer, not a single one as a seller. On top of that, it is being stated as an authorized dealer. Seems a bit sketchy to me, but if eBay protects the buyer, might be worth a try.

You get buyer protection from Paypal & Ebay. Plus he left a return option on the listing so he has to accept your return. There's literally nothing the seller can do if you open a dispute on this sale if it's somehow bogus. Buyers have all the power. I ordered two for my lefty buddy.

(i sell a lot on ebay, buyers have way more protection than sellers)

Plus, is it realistic that there's a bunch of fake diawa tatula CT's out there? Doesn't seem like a reel that's worth forging.

I just pulled the trigger on the Tatula CT. I trust eBay enough to know that if something happens, they will back me up.

I pulled the trigger on it even though I have a high bid on another. It says almost gone with 18 sold in the last hour. Thinking if it was a scam they wouldn’t have limited it to around 20 reels so I’m hoping it’s real.

I just pulled the trigger too! If it's fake I trust eBay and PayPal will have me covered and if it's the real deal...wow, what a deal it is!!!

Really? That would suck. You would think they'd do 15% because taxes are due on April 15th.

Actually they are due on the 16th.

SCAM!!! My Payment wouldn't go through so I called eBay and spoke to them about it and they checked and could tell that the listing has already been removed. Well, at least we know eBay has your back!!!
