After 11 years of bass fishing, one of my St. Croix Premier gave up the ghost.  While setting the hook on another Florida large mouth, the rod snapped, right in the middle.  I went backwards, the fish went free.  The ole girl has served me well, many pounds of fish over the rail, thanks to St. Croix.  She lived a good life, rest in peace.

Save it . If it ever freezes down there you can use it for ice fishing . 

I still have the first St . Croix Premier I ever bought when I was 16, a 7' M/F casting rod. I use it for kayak fishing now. I've replaced the tip top guide, and one other guide that got damaged. It's weathered and faded, but it still catches fish.

A Premier was the first "High End" rod I ever bought.

get her replaced or upgraded!

Same here.

 

Mine is still going strong. Only problem I had is a hook hole in the cork handle. I repaired it myself with some cork shavings and wood glue.

The premier was my first "higher end" rod I saved up for as well back when I was in college. It's coming up on going 10 years strong, the premier series is just a classic

The "jokester" in me wants to says that it's karma for fishing while the rest of us are iced in.

 

In all seriousness though, I am sorry your rod broke.

look at it as a blessing in disguise and turn the tragedy into a positive situation: upgrade to the Avid.

 

you won't regret it as there is a significant difference in the blanks. if you loved the premier you will go nuts for the Avid.

If your rod was a dog it would be 77 years old.  I hated it when I had to put my old rods down.
