Blue Raider Bob Posted November 17, 2022 Posted November 17, 2022 Just had to add this picture. Absolute nerves of steel! Took my daughter to Smyrna TN Airport to see the T'Birds. It was a life altering decision! I will never see a military aircraft again without giving thanks! My daughter went out and bought a poster for her wall. I think she feels the same way! She's ever hung up a huge 101st Airborne Flag in her goat feeding barn. I'm proud to have patriotic kids! 8 Quote
Blue Raider Bob Posted December 12, 2022 Posted December 12, 2022 Just found out that the Blue Angels are returning to Smyrna TN AFB in Spring of 2023. Last time they were here the show was cancelled due to the loss of Captain Jeff Kuss USMC who tragically died during a practice session when he came up short on a loop and hit the ground. God Bless Jeff and all you other vets that were willing to sacrifice all for me and mine. That is an gift I can never repay! Can't wait to get my tickets! ToothyCritter Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 A little over 20 years Air Force, will likely retire in 4. This is my last duty station out of 9, and it's miserable Minot... we'll see if I can hack it until 2026 haha. 5 Quote

They stuck me in Omaha for my 4 years - I've been 'out' for almost 39 years. Quote

I think everywhere in the country is warmer than we are right now. Even Fairbanks, AK. Fishing here is great when the water is open though. And the fish aren't too heavily pressured (besides walleye that is). I've known a lot of people who have been stationed at Offutt (weather wing is there), and they all seemed to like it. Quote

SAC was in it's hey-day when I was there...and I worked in the HQ building where Generals were a dime-a-dozen...your right arm got a workout just going from your duty area to the exit. 2 Quote
