Had a couple passengers on the boat today, I think they really enjoyed their ride along.

  • After a couple of years of being used to make the new movie "TOP GUN-2" this F-18 E  has just arrived @ our facility in Jacksonville Fl. for rework, fresh paint and being returned to the active fleet.

William E. Brandenburg was 16 when he enlisted into the Marine Corps on November 27, 1942. (Yes, he lied about his age.) He was killed on November 21, 1943 in the Battle of Tarawa. His remains arrived Wednesday at his home in Ohio, and he will be buried with full military honors this Saturday. Honor him in your thoughts this Saturday.
There are still 72,000 American soldiers from WWII who are unaccounted for.

Mind blowing, and heartbreaking.  Thanks for their sacrifice.

A true American hero. You couldn't find a 16 year old today willing to do the same.

Had a few really nice sunsets in this area when the heat wave moved through last week thanks to a lot of late afternoon popup thunderstorms. Caught this pic one evening while walking the dog.

My youngest son Finn loves Toy Story. He got some Woody pjs and was loving them, he's maybe a bigger ham than his older brother.

There are a couple of places on the wildlife refuge where I have to pull the kayak down narrow paths to get to the water. I don't trust my eyes to alert me to the dangers hiding off the sides of these paths, so I carry my long, trusty critter stick to beat the grass along the edges to convince these masters of camouflage to move. Somewhere in this picture there is a Diamondback Rattlesnake trying to blend in. Do you see him?

Welcome home soldier. Master Sergeant Carl Harold Lingquist, SN RA37091273, was listed Missing In Action during the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir, North Korea, on November 29, 1950. He will be buried this coming Monday at Arlington National Cemetery. Honor him.

Good photo @Harold Scoggins, I’d be headed to the ER in the amount of time it took for me to try and find it

That's why I carry my "critter" stick.

By golly, I'm going after some trophy bass!
