You must be watching you tube videos as they say that every time they set the hook.  Never a giant in that case.  8 pounds and over qualifies as a giant in my book and any fish over 10 can be stated as a fish of a lifetime.  Where your from changes that as a 5 pounder smallie is a giant in my book.  Everybody has there own scale though.  By the way heck of a catch!!!!

I guess the word giant is relative.... you just beat the PA state record. That thing is a tank! Did you catch her skipping those docks?

Nice fish!  I hope you released it alive... but judging by the bathroom shot I'm kind of doubting it.

Yessir I appreciate your concern for this fish health. As we take a lot of pride in our fisheries. And overs here we go the extra mile to ensure the fish is as healthy as possible. The fish was either in a live well , or weigh bag (for a very short time while walking in and out of the marina) full of water. And revived in the tpwd holding tank. She was out of the water for maybe a minute max.  I just wanted s certified weigh. We didn't have a scale or ruler in the boat.
