Took an extra day off to fish again.

Might be the last one of those for a while.

Either way, wanted to switch it up just a little this morning.

So I did a 20 Rep day.

20 repetitions on both working sets of 7 exercises.

Big Fun.

My abs look remarkably similar, but strangely they wanted some winter insulation about 15 years ago and I haven't seen them since.

I'll be in that good of shape when Colonel Sanders starts selling free weights.   Way to go AJay.

  • You are a great example for us all Ajay. "The longer we wait the harder it gets.  The first step is the hardest." I agree with you 100%   My son says he has abs and you Dad have flabs.

Enjoyed my off day yesterday and was back in the home gym this morning.

As a 'older' resistance trainer, it may be less about building muscle

and more about just working hard to keep the little I may have left.

Doubled up on the upper body deal. It was an on the spot decision. Felt like I got nothing after the first sets. My legs and core were jello after one set. So, I figured that was the move. Feel great now, ready to pass out. I get the no pain no gain, but I think there's also a take the path of least resistance and friggen' push it.

There is quite a bit in this life that I have no control over.

But each & every day, I have complete control over my own commitment & dedication to taking care of myself.  While resistance training plays an important role in that, there's So Much More to it.

A proper diet & sufficient hydration, beneficial sleep habits and setting short & long term life / fitness goals, really helps keep me on track.  There is no way to fake it.

I simply must put in the work.

You da man! I’m pretty much a professional water drinker so I’ve got that part covered. Eating correctly I’ll probably never come close but hopefully all the water flushes it out haha

im also a champion sleeper, doesn’t help during the World Series when I want to see the end of the game tho. My wife tells me who won when she’s telling me to quit snoring on the couch and go to the bedroom

Thanks ~

"Eating Correctly" can perhaps mean something different to each of us.

Above I used the term "Proper diet" and my version of that is designed to meet my specific needs.

I'd say if yours does some of that, then you're nailing it.

I eat plenty of fish and game, my problem is I don’t like spending any money, especially in a grocery store

Ran a 12:13 2mi run this AM. I ain’t done numbers like that for 4 years. Last night did over 5mi. Last weekend run rucked for 4mi straight, never walked. Besides that, shoulder can tolerate more strenuous and more frequent activity now. We climbing! Working to stay lean? Reporting for duty!

Been on a bit of a roll recently and the workouts are feeling good.

Performed 2 working sets of 7 exercises.

Extended a couple with drop sets.

Also experimenting with my positioning on the leg press.

Slid back a bit.

Still keeping my back supported but increasing my range of motion a bit.

Enjoying some muscle soreness this morning. Always part of the deal and has been for 4 decades. Not debilitating but certainty gets my attention.  And for whatever reason I just never get used to it, perhaps I'm not supposed to.

But combined with the every day old guy aches and pains seems I'm grunting & groaning everytime I move. Cleaning up the leaves one final time this morning should be very stimulating. Wish me luck . . .

I’m enjoying the new house that’s surrounded by spruce trees and after all the wind yesterday the few leaves we did have in the yard are now in the neighbors yard. ?

Counted dealing with the leaves as a workout. I was sore the next day.

Such a challenging deal, especially if I didn't absolutely love everything about it.

Well, except for the muscle soreness.

Never have gotten used to that.

Performed 2 working sets of 7 exercises this morning.

Felt pretty good.

Thursday I did strength tests on all the machines and upped everything by 5-10 lbs. it was brutal. I think I'll be ready to skate in the morning but man the second day after soreness was killer. Digging it that I'm getting stronger though.
