in search of larger soft creature baits.

Featured Replies

I use a lot of rage magnum bugs and stuff like rage lobsters , yamafrogs .   I am looking for other large soft creature baits.  There are a bunch of large worms , but i am looking for craws and creature baits.   Ideas ?  Small brand baits ?   small independent bait companies ?

Not small independent companies but...

Thank You... bigger than those is what i am looking for.

Give the BioSpawn Vile Craw a serious look. These are great baits that are so versatile in how you can use them.

I use alot of missle baits d bomb. They aren't really huge but they have a really big profile. I love them as a flipping bait.

I love the magnum rage bug And 5 inch pit boss

Magnum Baits- Mauler Creature Bait 6.25"

Also, Upton's- Papa Craw 7"

Berkley 8" Power lizard

Uptons 8" hand poured lizard and 7" craw.

RI's 5.2 double wide beaver fishes big

I have some Zipper 13 1/2" x2" wide Goliath's if interested.

I second the brush hogs, although I prefer the baby brush hogs. The full sized ones are giant. Watermelon seed works good in clear water, I caught my PB this weekend on one:)

YUM Magnum Christie Critter got me some stout ones last year. It's a big hunk of plastic.

Conviction Craw by Power Team Lures. It's 4.5" and very bulky, has big claws which have a lot of movement. They come in lots of colors. I do very well with this bait throughout the spring. I rig it on a 5/0 flipping hook (or maybe a 6/0) and a pegged weight. Deadly bait for pitching around stumps and wood.

I think this thread proves there are a lot of good baits out there that gets the job done and it’s really about what you have the most confidence in.

Yum Magnum Christie Critter. These have been producing well for us the last few weeks and they are fairly cheap compared to other brands

This is like a giant 6" Brush Hog! I've heard from a couple of people who have thrown these and they really like the bigger profile, say they move a lot of water!

X2 on the VileCraw. They are really good.

Thank You , excellent info .  exactly what i was looking for for.

Companies and creatures that i did not know existed. I fish a lot of small and med sizes as well as a lot of rage magnum stuff and many different colors ,

Manns jelly 10 and 12 inch worms included.  But what i was lacking was the big creature stuff and no one here in New Hampshire carries any of it.   Looks like i will be ordering from several different places.

6 to 12 inch creatures , Thank You again for all the info

sometimes they want a full meal , sometimes they want just a little snack. One of my 6 lbers came on a trout fly 1/2 the size of a dime.  Several 1 lbers on the big spro rat.

Thank You again.

Lunker City mud dog is 9". They make a few other baits in your size range.
