The Road To The Super Bowl 2019

Recommended Posts

Well, I will just throw this out there. I know the rules are the rules. But I think both teams should be able to have an offensive possession in OT. I don't care if they play an 8 min quarter or do something like the NCAA does it, but both teams deserve a chance to score.

I AGREE!!! I was just complaining to my friend that that is all messed up! I really don’t see the logic in the way they do it, at that point the coin toss determines way to much in my opinion. Oh well, it was a fun game.

Wow. Gotta hand it to Brady. Play calling at line of scrimmage,

sure-handed receivers, another trip to SB.

Hate 'em as much as I do, Brady is amazing.

Ya, I can't stand Brady either. I probably won't even watch the Super Bowl this year. Hopefully it will warm up a little and I'll go fishing instead!

Hard being a saints fan. Conspiracy all week was refs wanted LA and NE in super bowl because of the big markets. The missed PI call was the most egregious no call I’ve ever seen

I’m honored to be a fan and grow up during the era of the greatest athlete and greatest dynasty that sports have ever seen.  90BA5F3C-742B-43FF-923C-732C1AAD4BE1.jpeg.3bc37070a410a06f0d3265887436cb4f.jpeg

Dang it Chiefs! You were supposed to give me two more weeks of distraction from the fact that I am too busy working and the lakes are all frozen and can’t take my new (to me) boat out!!

I hope the Chiefs get their defense figured out. The guys who pull their weight on D aren’t exactly rookies and Mahomes has clearly shown he deserves better by putting on an amazing offensive show. Somethings got to change and quick.

Here’s to hoping that Edelman falls and Brady then trips on him and they both break something and Gronk chokes on a Tide Pod (kidding of course...).

I didn't think you were old enough to be a Bill Russell fan, those 11 titles in 13 years was quite an accomplishment.  His team team probably nudges out the 1947 to 1962 Yankees who also won 11 titles (just in a little longer time period) and the John Wooden led UCLA Bruins, who won 10 titles in 12 years.

Now if the Patriots can just win the next five or six Super Bowls in a row, the last one with an elderly Tom Brady holding off opposing lineman with his walker, then they too can join the "greatest ever" conversation.

Bunch of crybabies whining about the refs here too. I guess I thought the NE/KC game was called pretty fairly. There were a couple non-calls that could have been but there always is and they went both ways so it evened out. I'd much rather watch a game that they're letting them play than having a flag every down.

The ball didn't touch Edelmans thumbs, and they got and INT and scored a couple minutes later so that was a non-factor.

Berry mauled Gronk a couple times and no flag, no idea how they didn't call those.

Mahomes made some young QB mistakes, not taking the easy first down going for the homerun instead, missing a wide open TD in the first half, and running out of FG range and taking a sack and ending the only good drive in the first half was a killer. He also showed some excellent poise bringing his team back and nearly winning the game. You can't expect to win the AFC Championship game not scoring a single point in the first half though, no excuse for that.

If the Patriots put the same amount of pressure on Goff as they did Mahomes, game over.

Mine as well.

Good year to be from Beantown, first the Sox, then the Pats. How those Bruins and Celtics doing?

Bill Russell got his wins when the league had 8 teams, most of which don’t exist anymore, and he was one of two dominant 7 footers.  Yankees dominance pre-luxury tax era and there’s no salary cap in baseball.  Yankees are the only team that has exceeded the luxury-tax every year since it was introduced and have one World Series to show for it in those 15 seasons.  UCLA had a nice run in a COLLEGE sport with constant roster turnover and players not making any money.

Not to mention, you know, the 199th overall draft pick from the 2000 NFL draft holding just about every relevant record at the most important posistion in all of sports.  Having the most playoff games, AFC championship births and titles, Super Bowl births and titles, playoff winning percentage, Super Bowl MVPs... oh that coach of his is pretty amazing too, taking a dumpster fire franchise that hadn’t ever won anything and turning them into the most dominant NFL dynasty that the sport has ever seen and one of the most highly valued sports franchises in all of the land.

Professional sports, especially those with a salary cap, are not designed for extended title runs and one team dominating its conference for two straight decades.  That’s why the Patriots are the only professional team to dominate in the manner in which they have for the past 20 years.  Like I said, best athlete and best dynasty ever ;).

I WILL NOT be knocked off my cloud today!

Lol, of course I know it's not a real pic.

I'm not a Saints fan but I thought the pic was funny. If I were a Saints fan, I'd be pretty upset today. I don't normally complain about officiating, they always miss some calls, but that was really bad and changed the outcome of the game.

Bad no call but if they call it, the saints would have scored a touchdown on the next play. Then the Rams get the ball. It was a big no call but it didn't change the outcome. It was far from the final play. You could argue that every single play "changes the outcome"

What's crazy about the AFC game: if that guy doesnt line up offsides, the story is gronk drops a wide open pass to lose the game

No, if they would have called the pass interference, the Saints would have had 1st down at the 6 with 1:45 left. I think the Rams had 1 time out. They could have run all of the time off the clock and kicked the field goal to take the lead leaving the Rams with no time to try to tie it up. Definitely changed the outcome of the game. The NFL has already admitted as much.

Either way, it was so blatant a call to miss at such a critical time in the game.

That would be risky. Even the Patriots slammed into the end zone with 39 seconds left instead of running the time off. Things happen, the saints could have missed the field goal as time expired

It wouldn't have been nearly as risky as what ended up happening. Again, I had no dog in either game but that was so blatant a PI at a critical point in the game, they have to make that call.

That's for sure. I bet that ref gets fired

Keep hoping, ain’t gonna happen.

As a NY Jet fan I stick pins in my Brady voodoo doll twice a year, thrice if he makes it to the bowl and nothing happens to him. In fact I think it makes him stronger!

Oh boy. Let's hear the top 9. When listing them, be sure it's the same coach and same best player, ie jackson/jordan.

I hope Rams Defensive player Robey Coleman makes an interception late in the 4th quarter of a tied Super Bowl game against the Patriots, and takes it all the way to the end zone for a pick six and a win. Not because I want the Rams to win but because I want the league and its viewership to crumble even further. The NFL has been a joke for a long time and it will continue to be if they don't make some changes...even Hulk Hogan agrees.
