Hey, I'm new to the whole fishing and I just recently got my fishing kit. Can anybody here show me some skills on how to fish ? or show me around some nice fishing spot ? I'm in the lehigh valley PA.

Nice fish Yotone !   Bigger than anything I've got this year for sure.    Getting alot of smb in the Delaware, but no size...

Sideline question ...  hopefully, what I'm about to ask isn't frowned upon akin to asking to dance with another guys wife ... another eastern PA fishing discussion board (EPFR.net) has been off the grid for over a month - I can't find any reference to whats going on anywhere on the web.    I know most of us die hard fishermen frequent other boards ... just curious if anybody has heard anything about whats going on with EPFR.net or if its DOA ?

I found this in my computer cache - just a reminder of what their web site used to look like ... thx for any intel

Quakertown here! Fish mostly Nockamixon and do fairly well there.also have a honey hole in Dingmans Ferry (where I grew up) and drag my boat up that way sometimes.

wife and I had our second baby in August, so fishing time has been about non-existent since then. Hopefully spring will be better!

Stayed local this weekend. Didn't plan on going out since my girls didn't have any plans. Then a gift from God, my daughters friend invited her over. Loaded my kayak and dropped her off and went straight to the waters. The chatter bait was basically all I tossed.

was this at a big lake or a pond? only reason I ask is because water temps at marsh creek were a bit cold for a chatterbait bite imo, granted I didn't try for it

It was a very small Shallow pond and it was during the end of the day so I guess the water was warm enough for them to chase. Is Marsh open?

Marsh Creek still seems a little chilled @Quarry Man did you manage to catch anything that day? Haven't bothered to take the boat out yet, but got skunked from the bank, fishing that point at the mouth of carpenter's cove the other day.

Wife said I had 30 minutes after work. Made the most of it with the chatterbait. Surprised about the snakes biting so early in the year.

no luck, water temps were 42* I expect them to be around 45-48 currently but cannot tell for sure. I had to walk in because our batteries stopped working and went numb after 10 seconds. Turns out I was low on water. I ended up putting 1 gal of distilled water into two batteries. yikes.

Nice job tone. Hoping this virus blows over quickly, and everything opens back up.

for sure, luckily i live a block away from a small pond in south philly. This early spring like weather has really kick started the fishing for me. i was thinking about marsh this weekend but i really hate boat traffic.  im a kayaker so i when i pedal my way near the bridge and see so many spots being pounded its a wasted 40 minutes going there then back to the southern coves.

btw maybe this thread needs to be opened up to other areas near us like south jersey or upper delaware. I feel like their reports can be good since its basically the same conditions.

Fishing sucks so bad in the Poconos right now.  I spent 6 hours today and 2 yesterday creeping jigs on the bottom, slow-rolling Dark Sleepers, throwing jerkbaits, hudd 68's, ned rigs of various styles and only one bite... which I missed.  The bass are just not ready I guess...
