Just looking for something reliable and accurate. Haven't thought too much about budget so lets say

"reliable" to me must include waterproof or water resistant. I had one of those Amazon luggage type scales that was fine until it got splashed.

I have a Kastking scale that is waterproof and floats (great for kayaking) it came with a fish gripper. I don't see it available anymore. They have a new version that is water resistant, doesn't float and no fish gripper but has a built in tape measure.

They can be off by as much as 1/2 pound, but they are great for toothy fish

This is the one I got about two months ago. I like it and it has been accurate every time I check it with known weights. I like the pincher type way more then the hook type. It has held tight on a few wild fish. Been splashed a handful of times and hasn't been any issues. I cant really comment on longevity as I have not had it very long.

That's the one I was talking about in my post. "Currently unavailable"

This one is good, but on mine I took off the hook and added a fish gripper (6"). A gripper is a must, you will never use a hook-style scale again after using one.

In hindsight, I should have just bought one that comes with a gripper pre-attached from the get go. Learn from my mistake!

Also, in my opinion boga grips aren't worth it for bass. I could definitely see buying one for heavier fish though.

I have that scale (Rapala) and so do three of my buddies.  It is an awesome and accurate scale.  Amazing for culling if in tournaments and great to just weigh and keep track of your catches for fun too.  If mine breaks, I will buy another that same day.

The 50 lb high contrast digital scale . I havent used it yet . I played with it around the house . It will tell you the minimum and maximum weight saved and the total weight . If you need to cull just put the new weight in the minimum spot .

Excellent!

I have the Rapala tournament scale.  That one shows all 8 weight bins at one time without scrolling through.  I prefer that to the other that requires you to scroll through your weight bins

I used the rapala  50 lb high contrast scale yesterday for the first time .  It worked well at home but when I got it out in the sunlight , I could not read the little numbers and cull icons  .  First fish got logged in okay , second fish didnt get added at all    . After awhile I though I was getting the hang of it and had my five largest bass entered but when I checked the total weight it was at 8.5 lbs which    wasnt correct . Some how a fish got  deleted . It was operator error  but still , I  could not read the  smaller symbols . Hopefully, I'll have no problems next time .

That's partly why I like that Piscifun scale, very easy to read with the large blue backlit display.

best scale for the money? That depends on how much money you have. I don’t have much so I got a $5 spring scale from wal mart. The thing is surprisingly accurate, I tested it with dumbbell plates . No dead batteries no worry about splashing or rain

Chatillion IN series brass spring scales.  They can be had for around $75 new. They last longer than their owners and haven't changed in decades so there are plenty of used ones on ebay.  A 50 year old used one is just as good as a new one.  They will last longer than humanity.

The Berkley scale works well until it gets wet.
