The monkey says I "need" one more reel to round out my line up.  This will be used for crankbaits in the 1/4 to 5/8 ounce size.  I am looking at the 7.x:1 speed.  I have several Fuegos and one Tatula 100.  The Tatula 100 can be purchased for less than the Fuego or at least that is what I am seeing.  Both reels are excellent in my opinion.   I believe supply and demand has driven up the price of the Fuego.

I've almost pulled the trigger on a 100 so many times but keep thinking I'm going to be disappointed like I was with the original Tat CT.  That thing felt cheap to me and I'm afraid the 100 will be the same.  I know it's probably worth it's going rate of $100 but I'm wondering if I should just pony up the extra cash for the Coastal SV, Elite, etc.  Hope some other 100 owners weigh in!

I cannot comment if it will still feel cheap to you or not, but I will say that I just my hands on a 100 and while I haven't got to use it yet, I will say it definitely has a more expensive feel than the old CT. It's designed more like the Elite.

 

As to the original question, if you can get a Tatula 100 for less than a Fuego then it's not even a question, get the Tatula 100, it's simply a better reel. Something else worth taking note is they are rated for about the same amount of line, but what the Tatula 100 considers 12lb line is .285mm where what the Tatula CT (and I'm pretty sure Fuego CT too) considers 12lb line is .330mm, so you don't have to throw on almost 200 yards of 10lb line to fill the spool.

I think if u weren't a fan of the ct u wont like the 100. Of course u may have had a bad ct I've owned several of both and the quality is all over the place. I've had a 100 that was one of the smoothest I've owned and I ordered 2 a Cole months ago and both were so geary and loud I sent em back. I've quit fooling with daiwa for this reason.  I like my reels smooth and quiet and in my experience u have to wade through a few to get the good ones. Maybe their higher end reels are better. I've had a cple of the tatula sv reels everyone loves and absolutely couldn't stand them, loud and geary. Apparently others have had better experiences than I have

That greater line capacity mentioned above is awesome if you later use it for 15-20lb flouro.  Until then just use cheap mono as a backer for the 10-12lb line or braid.

I can get Fuego for $99 and Tatula 100 for $99.  Prices for Fuegos have gone up.

I have both of those reels. I would be tempted to go with the Fuego. I use mine for froggin. 

I was so impressed by my 8.1 Fuego for pitching, frogs and topwater, that when I decided to build a crankbait rig, I went with the 6.3 Fuego

That’s a good buy.  With tax it’s $90.  SO has the 100 for $99 plus I have a $10 coupon, which ends up being $89 (no tax).  I agree the Fuegos are super nice.  I have 3 already and one 100.  I like the 100 I have too.  Tough choice.

Picked up a Fuego XS for $60 yesterday off Amazon. $70 today. Prices do fluctuate but with some patience you can still snag a great deal. 

I have both , like them equally. Been using the 8.1 Tat 100 for frogs and paddle tail swimbaits , 50# braid. It has not disappointed one bit.

The Fuego is my workhorse reel. I have three, one of which is the new (to me) CT.  I don't own a Tatula, so I can't comment, though I am looking seriously at the 150

I've got both, and they're both really nice reels. I don't think you can go wrong with either. I'd probably go with the Fuego just for the savings if it was me.

You'd be well served by either, they're both excellent reels at their price points.  I went with a couple of Fuegos because I'm a cheapskate to some degree.

Is 119 for 7.3.1 left handed tatula 100 tws reel a good or fair deal , looking for my first bait caster but not looking to break the bank but want something that will last a bit. All the reviews  have me flip flopping  daiwa,shimano,kastking.....what are yalls though on this tatula 100

Unless the Twing is a must, save $40. Don't @ me but IMO this is the best bang for your buck reel since the Shimano E series. It  doesn't perform as well, but it also doesn't cost as much.

I own 7 Fuego CTs and two Tatula 100s, you can't go wrong with either reel.  I prefer the Tatula 100.  You can't go wrong with either choice.

I just had a Tatula 100 opened up last weekend and I was impressed with the build of it over the Fuego. I’d go Tat 100 all day. 

Frame on the 100 is more comfortable. Not a ton of difference in the performance. I prefer the tatula, but I don't know if it's $40 better. Guess that depends on the person.

+1 ... I have two Daiwa Fuego CT reels - one in 7:3:1 and one in 8:1 ... Very good bait cast reels for under $100 !

Just ordered a Fuego CT in 8.1:1 ( $74.95 @ Walmart) to go on my new Dobyns Fury 734C.

Both due in today!! 

I have 4 of the Fuego CT and 1 Tatula 100, I would recommend both of them. They are both good performing reels.
