Got a haircut after 4 months. 

I cut my own a few months ago. I had kind of an "oops" moment with the clippers along my part line. Not a good look with thinning, middle ages hair. But I sure felt a lot better. I did get it fixed last month when I went to the barber. Very happy that at my age it still grew back!

I’ve been bald for about 20 years. Do you know how much extra fishing gear I’ve bought not having to buy shampoo or get hair cuts for so long !?!?!?!?

I was ready to take the clippers to my head. IL has been under a pretty strict covid shelter order since March. The state opened up 2 weeks ago for some businesses including barber shops/beauticians. The lady who cuts my hair had the virus. Got it from her husband who got it at work. She had to go thru a number of tests before the doctor would release her for work. I called her 2 weeks ago and she told me she hadn't got released yet. Today was her first day back.

 

I moved to this neighborhood 18 years ago. She opened her business 18 years ago. She has cut my hair for 18 years.

Fun fact. The main difference between a barber and a beautician, is a beautician is not licensed to use a razor.

I've dated a couple beauticians before, and if they're all nearly as crazy as those 2, they shouldn't be near anyone's neck with a razor.  

Not being able to get a haircut was a huge disappointment during the pandemic. 

 

Finally succumbed and resorted to dog shears.

 

When the barber finally opened I went in for a realignment.

   I use clippers at home and cut what's left of my hair as short as possible. It's practical, easy and cheap. As for looks .... I don't worry about that. I done lost that game years ago.  ?    jj

I'm the reverse - every so often I'll have the wife trim the ends...but my ponytail still hangs to between my shoulder-blades.

My ex-gf before meeting my wife was a beautician and I can confirm this statement.

 

 

I've had the same buzz cut forever. Get the clippers out every 2 weeks, about 5 minutes in front of the mirror and I'm done.

Thankfully the wife does mine (what’s left) and my son’s hair. My SIL is a “hair stylist” as they’re called here apparently instead of beauticians. She complains wayyyyyyy to much about how hard her job is for me to even consider asking her for a haircut.

I had my wife cut mine for the first time in March.  I have clippers with different length guides.  As she started she kept saying how easy it was.  Then she had to taper the back which required some skill.  She had a hard time getting it right so she just kept taking more off trying to get it straight.  When she stopped, my hair line in the back was about four inches higher than normal.  She cut it again over the weekend and did a great job. I don't know if I will ever go back to the barber shop.  I told her I wouldn't pay her until she gets a license.  ?

I have two sisters that go to beauticians. I told them it wasn't working. They said she had a sign in her shop that she was a beautician not a magician.

Got mine cut for the first time since February last week. Felt real good to be clean cut again. I was using clippers to keep the sides and back short so hair would not tickle my ears and back of the neck.

 

Luckily my company allowed people to wear hats at work until the barber shops reopened around here.

I finally got my hairs cut yesterday for the first time in...oh God I don't know...a year...maybe a little less. I'm not one who cares about keeping my hair trimmed and I'm usually pretty comfortable with long hair. But recently I've spent alot of time working in the plant with our maintenance staff and that is a very hot environment so I had to get that mess off to let my head breath!

When the shut down came,  I was fortunately able to go to work everyday.  My three office mates worked from home.

 

We had a phone conference right before they came back to the office.  One of the topics were how they all needed haircuts bad.  I assured them that my Gillette Fusion had kept my hair (head) looking exactly the same as they remembered.

My industry is still shut down, so the huge hillbilly beard I have been growing is safe for a while longer.  It’s a pia to take care of, but I am getting really fond of it. 
 

 

Wifey is upset I got my haircut. I wore my hair somewhat long when I met her in the 90's. Got it cut shortly thereafter and have kept it short since. Today she told me I look like I'm 60 and I looked 40 with the long hair. I'm 50. What I didn't say is "Maybe I should just dye the grey out of my hair like you do"
