Pumkinseed head

Trying to make a pumkinseed swim jig and this is what I have for the head. Not 100% happy with it but I still think it came out good. So what does everyone think about this one?

It looks good. I think you might be better with your base color being the color you're using for your spots now, and then doing streaks of blue instead of spots. An extremely difficult pattern to do on such a small area.

I think she is beautiful Allen.  I’d like to see it with the body installed.  Please add it and repost.

Here's the skirt tabs I picked out as of now.  Waiting on clearcoat to dry for a final choice of colors.

Let’s see the finished product.

Clear coat is drying on the heads right now.

Completely agree with the other compliments here. For such a small area to work with that's a very nice job, especially for a challenging paint scheme like pumpkinseed. Looks killer!

I think he is trying to mimic the pumpkinseed sunfish rather than the color pumpkinseed. I thought the same thing you did, pumpkinseed is a light brown with black speckles. I'll admit it took a few seconds after seeing the head before I realized what he was doing.  I think the head looks great but needs a bit more smaller red spots.

Right, I've never seen one but the pictures I've seen they look rusty brownish/orange with blue streaks and small spots.

Looks fine to me. There's plenty of color to catch a fish's interest. Don't believe it has to be exact.

Here is the picture I have been working off of. Next heads I will go with the stripe pattern like on the head.

That's probably the best looking jig I've ever seen...and I've poured thousands. Great job.
