Free shipping - cost me.

Those shrewd marketing people; I don’t stand a chance. :)

those Berkeley Flat worms have been very difficult to get. Well, they are in stock at TW. I grabbed a few packs. ( I love drop-shot fishing) The Siren’s song called “free shipping” is much to tempting.  Bewitching almost.

now I have a bunch of stuff on the way.  $53 worth.   Oddly enough I still forgot a few things I never seem to remember.  Scent-stick, yellow dye marker, and lure knockers.

Yep. It’s brilliant. They figured out how to get us to spend an extra $30 to save $6.

Makes perfect since to me.

I can always justify it myself.

I’d rather spend $30 extra and get something tangible out of it than spend $6 just to get what I bought to my house.

I agree.

Yep, they gotten a few extra $$'s out of me over the years to get the free shipping.......lol

I try to wait until I have about $50 worth of stuff to order before buying anything. Just grabbing random ooh shiny items to get to free shipping and then remembering all the stuff I forgot to order gets too expensive, lol.

I said "try". LoL

Sometimes I get to $120, then I add another $30 of stuff to get a $10 shirt.

1-800-bait-monkey.  Haha.

admitting there is a problem is the first step.

Y'all are weak. It's way easier to purchase than it is to not.

Except for when your wallet screams in agony.

Other than wives, does anyone ever say "You have too much fishing stuff"?

Shipping costs, whether they are listed as a specific amount depending on the speediness, or whether they are free once you get to a specific amount, are a big reason why I still prefer to buy my tackle in person at a store. Quite often I need a specific type of plastics or hooks, not 50 bucks or more worth of tackle. And I need it in 2 days when I’m going fishing again, not in 10 days.

Can I shoot him instead?

Use the "Wish List" feature.  I keep them seasonally, and as an inventory on baits or tackle that I keep multiples of in stock.  I think it helps me to remember what I actually need, as opposed to buying spontaneously.  Also, I never have any trouble getting to the free shipping plateau ?

Just think if TW figured out what some of these beauty shops have and offer VIP levels where if you spend x amount per year you get x off your next order and is a tier chart. My wife will spend hundreds to reach a certain level so she can get $100 bucks off her next order. It’s genius

The TW wish list is a godsend. Just make sure you are logged in whenever you make one or add to one.

Free shipping for $50 and above is a great bargain, and if I need more than about $30 of stuff, I'm usually happy to add more to get over the mark.  Everything I buy is something I'd get sooner or later. I rarely make single orders of tackle over $100 anyway, unless I'm getting a rod or reel or something like that.

"Can I shoot him instead?"

You know there's an ammo shortage, right?

___________

I saved money today with my free Amazon Prime shipping. Sort of.

I needed to drive into town this afternoon to get a haircut before the next big ice storm hits later tonight. They're predicting 30 hours or so, but who knows. We lost power for 16 hours Saturday and Sunday. I was going to stop by Total Wine first and then by a shop to get 12 CR123 batteries for $29.95. But I looked on Amazon and got 12 Streamlight batteries for $21.50 with FREE SHIPPING.  Yay.

So instead, after my haircut, I went into the farm store to buy some bags of bird seed and came out with a new generator.  :)  I couldn't believe they had one left. Just one.

Who goes to the tackle store or online tackle shopping and only spends $50?? I just try not to collect too many of the free T-shirts or my wife starts to notice.
