Cudos to BR

Featured Replies

I’m a member of some diverse forums and I just want to commend the way those new to the sport are treated by the members here at Bassresource.
There are no insults or other demeaning comments directed at those asking novice questions. ?

Here-here - when I joined up 3.5 years ago I saw that almost immediately. Good group, good admins...gotta credit Glenn and the Mods for keeping on top of things.

And the members too for being patient and willing to share knowledge.

Well said. The knowledge imparted on this site is impressive, but the welcoming nature, and helpful attitudes of the members is what has impressed me the most. Especially given the fact that there are so many varying opinions on all things related to fishing. If BassResource were a bass it would definitely be double digits.

@papajoe222 I Couldn't Agree More ~

Been a member for a while as well.

Since day one there have been three deals that have always rung true here with me.

That’s why I log on here more than any of the others.
It can get a little chippy once in awhile but never out of hand.
We just have a lot passion!  ?

Like everyone else, I really enjoy coming here. Always been treated with respect and all of my questions have been answered. I do my best to be welcoming and respectful of all opinions. Actually, other than a regional site, this is the only fishing site that I participate in.

I really value this forum and the relationships as they are.  There is a central theme of sharing.  It’s a special place to interact with such a diverse group.  Glenn has invested a big part of his life here and his values are evident.

Thanks to all!

I feel this way completely. When I was the new guy here...almost 2 years ago now...I was never treated poorly or talked down to. If I had been I wouldn't be here now. Just hope that I treat everybody as good as I've been treated.

Any place that puts up with an old fart like me has to be full of good people?        jj

I could not agree more. Plus the forums are well content modified - for example no random posts about politics and religion that show up all over some other places, that frankly I don't come here to see and generally want to avoid and focus on positive things etc.

Glenn & crew do a really amazing job.

This is another one that keeps me here - considering the probability of a wide variety of both followed by members...let's just keep it out of here totally so we don't butt heads.

I think I heard a story about one guy who used to get out of line here on BR. Rumor has it Glenn chopped part of him up for bait and the rest of the guy is, ironically, sleeping with the fishes. ?

Better be careful what you say. Snitches end up with the fishes. ?

Been here a little while ?

I first time I read, The "Ultimate" Bass Fishing Resource Guide, I was thinking yeah right.

Well @Glenn was right!

Do we occasionally step on each other's toes, or bump elbows, & bruse egos...why certainly.

For me a quick Gibbs slap usually does the trick!

It's  the best Bass fishing site on the 'net. I've  been around for a while and I consider this place family.

This is the only forum I frequent for this exact reason. Just good fishing talk, a very well-mannered userbase.

As a newbie to the forum, I do have to say that I feel very welcomed and have received a lot of great responses to my questions.

This is a great place, I’ve learned so much from here. I catch more LMB because of this forum, so thanks everyone!

While I will say there definitely have been times the *** thing has driven me nuts, but overall I agree this site has the best group of posters and mods around.

The part I appreciate the most is that being a semi budget angler my top end price range is respected and not looked down on by other posters. Having dealt with a forum previously, when we were early 20s with an unplanned kid, where I did learn a lot, but people looked down on my gear, ugly sticks and a Shakespeare excursion spinning reel. If you weren’t fishing high end rods and reels and LC baits and averaging 18”+ smallies you might as well not bother. Heck I still bank fish with the ugly stick and reluctantly retired the excursion last year and caught some tanks with it too.

So now that my kid is in the workforce and our jobs are much better it is nice to see the newbies on here are helped with great options within their budget. I really think that helps to grow the sport/pastime and doesn’t discourage anyone .
