Just curious why colors like these are so popular? Is there any insight as to why they work so well? 

 

If I go into the reviews on TW for almost any worm, and most soft plastics, so many mention that these purple/pinkish colors are their favorite. I just find it kind of funny because it's so unnatural. Although I guess blue gill can have a kind of iridescent/purple shimmer sometimes.

 

Whatever it is, I'm going to buy some roboworms and dream shots with this color scheme in the order I'm putting together right now. No idea when the best time to throw them is, but hopefully I find some luck.

I really don't know "why" this color works, I only know that it "does" work. At any time, in any location, a 7-1/2" ribbon-tail worm in Tequila Sunrise has been my go-to for years.

Grape, Purple, Merthiolate, Plum, Red, Bubble gum,  I haven't seen a worm of that color yet. My opinion is the bass can see'em or pick them out at a longer distance. They are unnatural, bass thinks kill it now and you get bit! I do agree with tholmes comment, dunno why they work but they do.

I sure can't explain why these colors work well, but they do. For me, any mix of purple, grape colors light and dark, have been a winner for a long time.

The berkley power worms in tequila sunrise are my favorite 7 inch worms on the planet!

 

I have heard of the morning dawn color but see it used more on dropshots typically

 

Idk these weird colors work either but it works for me so I won't question it Lol

I believe the "Morning Dawn" color Robo Worm (plus close Morning Dawn offshoots) have been more of a spotted bass and smallie deal fished deep on a drop shot . I thought it must be a color wavelength situation whereby the Morning Dawn color looks different to bass deep .. Then friends were reporting they were catching spotted bass at all water depths (including shallow) with the Morning Dawn color , so go figure ? I say if you have confidence in the color - then cast it !

I use the Roboworm version on a shaky head in about 10-15 feet.  It has been pretty good for me but not much better than any of the other great colors from them.

I just bought a Strike King spinnerbait that is Morning Dawn color.  Does it work?  Haven't tried it yet.  I bought it because it looks good to me.  Time will tell if the fish like it this season.

 

Notice I only bought ONE in case it sucks like the whopper plopper.

Very excited to take my crack at them!... might have to invest in that 7 1/2 ribbon tail ?

You need a Morning Dawn Whopper Plopper. ?

 

Seriously, I do not have anything in Morning Dawn but to me the color looks real close to a good old reliable purple worm. Right?

I’m another on Berkeley Power Worm. When I first started fishing the power worm wasn’t what it is today. I use the power worm more than the rage tail worms. Will tell ya the rage tail Cut-R worm is very effective but you lose tail easily because bass bite it off. Anyhow I used Tequila Sunrise as others mentioned. Let’s say it’s money when they want it .

I remember spotted bass liked the craziest colors in soft plastics.

I catch a ton of largies on Morning Dawn.  Aaron's Morning Dawn and Bold Bluegill are my two Roboworm colors of choice, it seems they always get bit when I start doing nothing with a dropshot.
