I have another thread in here about my drop shot problems and just as I was figuring things out I snapped my rod somehow as I was landing a fish. 
I searched and read what I found  but a lot of the threads were older.

So what dropshot rod do you use that will cost me under $150?

I do dropshots, Neds and other light finesse on a Fury 702SF....$130

I do drop shot on a ML Shimano Convergence. MidwayUSA has them for $70.

6’ 10” Medium Light xtra fast St Croix Bass X rod $120

I got my dropshot rod at Wal Mart on clearance for 12 dollars . It says dropshot right on it LOL . I dont even know what brand it is . I'm   sure its a pos by others standards but I dont know any better . It catches fish for me .

I just picked up the new Tatula XT 7'1" ml xf.  Fished it a few times its really nice for $100.  Like it better then my Mojo 6' 10" dropshot rod.

Daiwa Ardito 7'6 ML XF $129. Sometimes on sale for less 

The new 2022 Daiwa Tatula XT 7’ ML would be a decent option at the $100 price point. I see you have NY in your username. If you are anywhere near Albany I would offer up my Dobyn’s Sierra 702, which I think is an excellent drop shot rod. I just don’t fish a drop shot very much so I think I’m going to sell that rod. 

I use Daiwa Aird-X M ($50) or H2O tac40 ML ($80). Works for me. 

6'10" ML XF, super sensitive 40Ton blank, Fuji guides, very comfy reel seat, $129 retail. I love it for neds too.

One of the best budget rods imho, I have 3 of the “Brent Chapman” models 2 casting and the spinning version you’re speaking of. Back to the recommendations I really like my 13 fishing fate black rod although I don’t drop shot with it they have a 6’-10” version specific for drop shots. Bonus is its around $85.00. They also  have several different models in various price points with either split grips or full cork grips that would meet your needs and hit your budget. Tackle Warehouse currently has the 6’-10” med light muse black for $149.97.

good call.  good bait keeper tab.  I felt the grip is a bit fat for me, tho.  I have the Kaden and sometimes the fat grip gives me hand fatigue.

Good to know about the fat grip. I really dislike skinny grips. They make my hand to cramp up.

Thanks to your other thread I took my Phenix Maxim out today and all my big fish were on it and a drop shot.  That rod is just plain “lucky” for me.   I did lose a 6+ with my net debacle.

Have you handled one yet? I'm debating between the new XT or moving up to the Tatula Bass.

Little off-topic, but I just got the Tharp Hammer casting rod. I've been wanting to add a few "cheaper" utility rods to my lineup. And man, this rod seems like it should be priced much higher than $130 ( I think I paid $110). If feels great in hand and looks like a much more expensive rod.

I've got the whole series except for the Rocket Launcher, and the Okeechobee. Two B Hit's and two Money Makers. The Hammer and it's equivalent blank in the Invoker series get a lot of use. Couldn't be happier with 'em.

I actually won one from Omnia fishing, so I actually got it a day or two after Omnia received their shipment. As far as the comparison to the normal Tatula I would say the XT is about 90% of the level of the normal Tatula. It is very well made, has a very nice taper to it. The XT  just doesn't quite have the sensitivity of the normal Tatula, but it isn't far off.

Thank you for the feedback, I'll feel them both out in store but likely will pony up the extra $$ for the Tatula cause I need a finesse rod. Sensitivity is king.

I have a St Croix Avid X that is 6'9" ML/XF. The cheaper 6'10" mojo bass version of this with the same blank would work very well for a dropshot.
