Clear water spring and fall usually.

Ultimately you are going to get answers for most every situation because a fluke style bait is very versatile.  I use a Yamamoto DShad in open water, drift fishing, dragging, in cover, as a topwater, in weeds and just about anywhere I would use plastics.  The DShad is a bit unique because it is heavier than most fluke style baits which makes it more useful in different situations.  As you can see, I use it a lot and in a lot of different colors for specific situations.

Flukes around vegetation, and hard jerkbaits with treble hooks in open water.

Last year the zoom super fluke in the fall was my go to, this year so far I have been fluked.

Flukes can trigger strikes when nothing else can , it's the darting action that begs for investigation. Lol

I have one tied on most of the time.

Plus they skip better than any bait I throw.

I throw them along grass lines, in grass, under docks, shallow water in the morning and let them fall deep at times.

They're more versatile than you may think.

It seems to really out produce other baits on blue bird calm days. The fish suspend and won’t bite moving baits or anything dragged on the bottom.

Flukes are my go to dock skipping bait. Have one tied on at all times, no matter the weather. Only thing that may change is putting it on a weighted hook to get further in the water column faster
