I searched my memory but I think I just caught my first spinnerbait bass today.

I’m thinking about going out this evening and throwing nothing but spinner bait. If I get skunked it’s all your fault

Spinnerbaits are one of my most used lures.  If the bass are keying in on baitfish, a spinnerbait is usually a good idea.  Especially around wood.  Pretty much the same a squarebill to me.

75% of the time, I reel them in fast and kill it for a second or so.  The rest of the time, I'm slow rolling to keep them down deep.

A white spinnerbait is really all you need.  It's both natural and high contrast, so it works in lots of conditions.  But different sizes and different blades can make a huge difference, as the blades and weight will help determine how fast you can retrieve it and at which depth.

What weights are everyone throwing? Im 1/2 oz 70% of the time unless I’m throwing deep (1oz)

I rarely go lighter than 1/2oz. Lately been throwing 3/4oz more. It sinks down into the weeds better and I can keep it closer to bottom when slow-rolling.

I guess I am a little ahead of @TnRiver46 . I have caught a lot of LMB on spinnerbaits in my years of fishing. The only SMB I've ever caught on a spinnerbait I caught two this year on an inline spinner.

I love to chunk & wind and so a spinnerbait fits that bill nicely.

Caught my first DD Green bass slow rolling one in 25 ft.

My PB brown bass smoked one I was burning in 5 feet of water.

Such a versatile bait.

Been a fan of them for a long time.

Late summer is prime time for spinnerbaits here for me

My best of the past few years was on a spinnerbait in the middle of summer. Burning a 3/8oz Strike King Banshee chartreuse/white with a pit boss trailer in Skeet's Chartreuse Shad along the edge of some lily pads in 3'-5' of water caught this beauty...ya, it's my avatar pic in full size.

I can land a 1/2 oz  quietly where so desired . So I throw it almost 100 % of the time .

I think I have to use a postal service to land it where the fish desire

It's possible that catching fish using a windchime does not play to your strengths as an angler.

I’ve got some very lovely wind chimes on the back porch, maybe I should troll them on a down rigger

At least it was uninterrupted by fish, so peaceful when fishing a spinnerbait. No splashing or flopping, no anything. Just boredom

@Darth-Baiter and @TnRiver46 are there hooks on the spinnerbaits y’all are throwing? ? But seriously, a trailer hook may help hook fish that don’t otherwise make contact with the bait. Helps short strikers that you may not even know were swiping at it. All it takes is a fish or two to build some confidence and then you’ll always have one tied on! I used to feel the same way, but the last 6-7 years, I literally can’t imagine being on my boat with out my dedicated spinnerbait rig. When the sun comes up and the water gets choppy, I’m slinging that thing until I need a Tommy John.
