Does anyone still use these? We used to use them a lot when I was a kid. 

 

I just remembered them as I'm exploring square bills for the first time. I was thinking how much better they look than a crawfish painted square bill. 

 

Just curious.

I have three in my tackle box...two shallow divers, one deeper diving. Have not used them in years. 

 

Should probably tie one on here soon...

I still use the small one on an ultralight. Catches everything.

I have a couple and they keep company with the other lures I seldom use although I should. I hear they work better with trebles attached though.😉

I have some of them but they are mostly tackle tray ornaments.

please define 'everything'.....  and how does it do with lmb?   i have a couple of those guys....  they still regularly sell them, afaik........

Quite possibly the greatest river/creek crank bait of all time, but they don’t get a lot of love by the reservoir/green fish guys. I have no doubt it would still catch fish though cranking around riprap or gravel banks on those lakes. Still have a couple sitting around the garage tackle somewhere myself.

2 words, fish shallow.

Ponds, river banks, and creeks. The small (wee craw) and large version can catch a variety of panfish (does better for them than bass actually) but will also catch largemouth and smallmouth, and trout too.

Just keep drag a bit loose since the hooks on the ones i bought seem to be very small and also dont seem to be as durable as most of the treble hooks im throwing on other cranks.

It’s not my most productive lure,  I don’t use it very often but it is my most beloved lure.   So many memories of wading creeks as a kid and slaying them with the Rebel Wee Craw.

I have about a dozen of them.  I found each and every one.

These still produce for me on the upper potomac for smallmouth in the summer when the water is down.

Shallow water and gravel or small rocks with some current is where these shine for me. 4 ft or less. Clean creeks/mountain rivers etc for smallies, but largies, spots, white bass, and cats will eat them too.

That was the first crankbait I ever really beat them down on.  Since most of water I fish is soft bottom and shallow I havent used them much since.  Most of crankbait fishing is deflection off wood so I really want that bill to be square or at least coffin shaped, unless there's lots of grass.  

I caught a ton of smallies with that lure, haven’t tried it here in Fl.

I use the small Rebel craw in natural crawfish color. I like the shallow diving model, and cast it over and around rock dams, docks, or parallel to weed lines. Bass will readily hit this lure. By " everything" I mean LM bass, SM bass, crappie, bluegill, and an occasional catfish.             Works great in ponds, creeks, rivers and large lakes also.

Yep… when I lived up on the California Delta, Cooch and I would regularly launch out of Vierra’s and fish the Sacramento River sections between Walnut Grove and Courtland - can’t count how many smallies we pulled in with them, and they were by far the most productive lure.

Do you guys grind them on the bottom like a type crankbait?

Funny this is posted because I just saw a wall of different varieties of this in a gas station in the middle of no where today. I was admiring them but also noted very small hooks, doesn't look geared to bass. I have some in my old unused lure stash as well. Have only thrown a few times but it seemed to go all over the place. Interested in retrieve styles others use with success but I don't see me using them anytime soon tbh

Old School !  Good color and action if you can make it tick off of the bottom .

Going throgh my spare tackle I found a Rebel Big Craw that was discovered at a thrift store a few years back. I put new hooks on it and made room in my deep diving tackle box for it. I have never used one. I'm thinking an early spring bait in the same places I throw Warts and Mudbugs.
