Best guess at bass weight

Somewhere b/t 7 and 8 lbs is my guess.

It's a really nice fish, congrats.

Nice one!

I'd venture a guess around 8+lbs. She likely pushed 8 before she dropped her eggs.

Welcome to BR. Stick around, there's a lot of good info here and we have a good time too

7 lbs +/- a few oz .

That's a bigga bass! As far as the weight, I am 100% sure it's between two and twenty pounds.

Seriously, listen to @WRB. He's caught seven-pounders beyond counting. They have to be in the teens before Tom counts 'em.

Also, listen to @papajoe222 and stick around. About once every two months, an angler like you creates an account to post a single fish, the one-and-doners. This is a great place. Become one of the gang.

High 7 or maybe 8 lbs

7-8 is definitely likely!  Gorgeous bass and congratulations!!!

Thanks!

I’m in Missouri here and bass 10lbs or more seem to be extremely rare. The state record here is 13 lbs 14 ox. and that was in 1961.

7 - 7.5 Good fish

I agree with 7+. Really looks like it could be pushing 8lbs. Fantastic fish for Missouri, congratulations!

First pic looks like a 7+ maybe an eight. But the 2nd pic looks like a 6-7.

So, what's your best guess?

My guess was right at 8lbs. I’m obviously not sure if she was or not, but it seemed really close.

In my 20’s I had access to a private lake with a ton of 3-5lb bass. It really spoiled me and a friend when it comes to bass fishing.

We got really good at guessing weights in that range. I’m 49 now and this is my personal best bass. My 11 year old was beside me when I caught it and I told him I was going to keep it for a mount when I first pulled it out of the water.

There’s not a lot of time to make those decisions. I have my biggest bucks mounted but no fish. I would up releasing it back after hurrying up and taking pictures.

Doesn’t appear I can edit posts but I meant to say I “wound” up releasing it.

Spell check gets me too often.

Thanks for replying and I do hope you stay and post lots more bass. I didn't opine because you and I are in the presence of anglers who've caught 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, etc.-pounders beyond counting, but as the site's founder, @Glenn, has observed, it's very tricky to guess weight from a photo, so our guesses are all over the place, but we all agree that it's a fine, fine fish and congrats!

Wait, I just checked my first post and see that I did guess, so I'm sticking with that estimate:

Just for perspective, are you 6'5" tall, or 5'6" tall?

I am 16' 5" tall, so remember that when you guess the weight of my fish.
