1 live transducer mounted on the  bow trolling motor. Only one trolling motor and 55” of total screens.

  • It's called "click bait"   And as long as it keeps working, he'll keep doing it.  Plain and simple.

  • Livescope costs about as much as a single power pole    I think these tours need to be careful listening to keyboard warriors, just look at how well it worked during the dink fest MLF days,

I do not think it will change too much either.

At least its something.  It may or may not have a measureable impact.

55 inches is basically four 12 inch screens and a 7 incher?  What size screens are they using these days mostly?

@gimruis now it will only be 20k in electronics not 40k.

@TnRiver46 guess all the pros admitting to what they spent on screens and transducers last year was just keyboard warrior talk.

This is the least of BASS's concern after this year.

The last SLR event was a perfect representation of what the BASS product is currently, and it's deeply flawed.

Great news for the NPFL that BASS decided to keep the same product.

Im ok with the decision.   I would have been ok with a ban on all ffs/'live' sonar.

I am wondering, though, what the rationale was behind banning crappie brakes?

I do wish they could have found a plain English way to limit the capability instead of proving list of 'authorized transducers'.  Could make it more difficult for newer or 'outsider' companies to get a foothold in even legacy sonar

I dont think this will have any major impact . most of the guys do their work with 1 sometimes 2 transducers. its more for the optics off a boat looking like a NASA control room than anything.

i think that is to eliminate the saltwater transducers that can see into the future.

Could be.  The video that @Catt posted in the marine electronics section states that they thought the number and screens mounted at the console were inhibiting their field of view while driving.  Davy Hite said it was also a safety issue.

If I remember right didnt Seth Feider just switch like a 22" screen on his bow? It was massive.

I feel like this is just pandering if I'm being honest.

"Lastly, B.A.S.S. will focus on a more diverse Elite Series schedule, creating a wide variety of fishing styles demanded for success. "

This statement makes me wonder what they mean. Is there more to come down the pipe about switching lakes or lake specific restrictions on equipment? Probably not but still an odd statement.

I think it's a bigger impact than it initially appears.  Allows the tech without letting it get out of hand.  Forces anglers to make choices on their setups instead of just adding anything and everything.  There will be setup strategies based on the schedule and such, it'll take it from a free for all to something that requires actual planning and thought.

1 FFS transducer on the TM is how the majority of us regular anglers operate, so being able to see the true FFS gurus optimize that setup will be a cool learning opportunity...And an opportunity for content for the league/pros.

I have to think the boat manufacturers are relieved.  Not many boats designed for additional hundreds of pounds of weight and 3 or 4 square feet of screen-induced air resistance; all in front few inches of the boat

They will ban gas motors soon then its back to the drawing board 😂

Maybe mix in some more shallow lakes?

Well, part of the issue is scheduling.  I've stated this before too.

They always seem to do the northern smallmouth swing in midsummer.  All the fish are stacked offshore on deeper structure and they're targeted with livescoping using a vertical finesse presentation.

Scheduling these events in May or October would greatly impact how they're targeted.  That's the entire reason I avoid fishing for them in the middle of summer.  The way they have to fish is a by-product of their seasonal movement patterns.

Yeah having two of those back to back gave me fatigue.

They could do the Connecticut River or something. I remember when Roland won one up there with a jet boat.

He's made a cult out of being grumpy and never pleased about anything...no matter which way it goes.
