Super User J Francho Posted November 1 Super User Share Posted November 1 How do you say it, and why are you saying it wrong? LOL, this has to be one of my biggest pet peeves when listening to boat reviews, sales people, or anyone talking about their boat. Pic for attention, the KON-suhl of a Sportsman Masters 267, because I want one. 1
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted November 1 Super User Share Posted November 1 I say con as in conman then sole like the bottom of my shoe. That said, Yankees have the right to say it wrong if they like and I respect that. 😁
Super User J Francho Posted November 1 Author Super User Share Posted November 1 Yankee here, and I say it the same as you. I made it through the fifth grade. 2

Super User FryDog62 Posted November 1 Super User Share Posted November 1 Fishing industry mispronunciations - Like pronouncing it KamaGatsu - reversing the G and K is done a lot too.. Or Sinko vs. Senko… many other malaprops in fishing… lol

Watch a couple boat reviews, and you will hear it. I should have clarified, I was referring to in person pronunciation. Not on video. Regardless, most around here refer to them as a "tiller" or "wheel" boat. Tiller boats outnumber wheel boats here by a fair margin because walleye is king. Super User J Francho Posted November 1 Author Super User Share Posted November 1 A tiller is what most bass heads should buy when looking at anything under 18'. The layout makes more sense. I loved my 17' tiller.
Super User gimruis Posted November 1 Super User Share Posted November 1 I agree. Saves a lot of space without the "CON-SUL" there lol
Super User MN Fisher Posted November 1 Super User Share Posted November 1 ^ I could have gone console when building Bass Trek, but decided on a tiller to give me a bit more room. I have no complaints about it.
Junger
Don’t care how people pronounce it as long as they don’t spell it “counsel”. 😀

Super User TOXIC Posted November 2 Super User Share Posted November 2 Writing for Yamamoto and being edited by a professional doesn’t let me get away with any writing errors and I’ve learned over the years. My biggest cringe…. I have my boat for sell….Instead of…. I have my boat for sale.
