IMG_7842.jpeg.96d90a06d598a48605f26e3786c8ef00.jpegY’all are awesome. The other day I made a post asking about catching only smaller fish in a lake that supposedly contains double digit fish. Y’all gave me some excellent advice not only with lure selection and tactics but you also reminded me to be aware of how lucky I am to have access to a lake where I can fish at all. So yesterday I took my wife on the water with me and looked at things with a different attitude. I also tried a black and blue jig. Lo and behold I ended up catching my Personal Best. It was 7.63 lbs on my scale and released unharmed. Thank you for all the advice. I’ll be looking for that double digit fish with a whole new attitude and outlook. God bless!

I'm so happy for you. That is a beautiful bass. I didn't opine on how you might catch a fine fish, but I would have suggested casting a black and blue jig...with your wife...and a perky attitude.Β

Love you caught that gorgeous fish with your family and a greatful attitude towards what you have access to. That's a triple win. Congrats!Β

Congratulations!! Β  Great catch!!

That is a perfect example of WHY this website is such an asset for all of us in this B.A.S.S. fishing game we all love to play. 🀩

Congrats on the PB ! Wonderful that you were able to share the experience with family !!

What were the conditions and structure/cover you caught her in?

80 degrees, blue bird day. Kind of windy. Lay down coming from the bank. I was working the jig just dragging it over the branches of the main tree. When it rolled over the last one in probably 5 ft of water she hammered it on the fall. She ran into the lay down and came up to jump and shake. I pulled hard and realized she was stuck on the other side of the branch. I gave her slack hoping she would come out. She ran for the bottom and I was able to pull her out to open water and lipped her at the boat. My wife videoed the end of the fight and the weighing and the release. Just an awesome experience.Β
