How do you like the Perfect Pitch? Bought my first Megabass rod this spring and looking at the Perfect Pitch as a second.

Honestly I don't have enough seat time in with it yet to give it a review.

'19 Vanquish 2500SHG.  Feels VERY close to Stella smooth, but impossibly light.  20g lighter than my same size Stradic CI4+ FB.  I'll be fishing them both on Guntersville Thu-Sun.  I'll try to give an idea of comparison after.

I don’t have a picture right now but when I get off work in the morning I’ll post one up! Edit: added

6ft medium fast St. Croix triumph with a penn battle2 2000 series mainly used for plastics.

Dobyns 734C with a Daiwa Tatula CT 7.3:1 which I use for everything. Decided on this setup from browsing these forums prior to actually signing up. Love it!

For you canoe/kayak anglers, the one rod and reel I always carry out, use the most:

A 5'6" M powered, F, St Croix spinning rod (PS56MF) with a Shimano Stradic Ci4+ 2500 or 3000 reel. Gosh, for finesse applications from a kayak where we can get "up close and personal," for casting under docks, for accuracy, a short lever for great control over fish especially as you bring them along side to lip them . . . greatness.

Picked up a used NRX 895C for a pretty good price. It has a few cosmetic blemishes but nothing major. It seems like a beast of a rod. Not really a fan of the aesthetics. Never been a fan of recoil guides and they look even less appealing being part of the hybrid guide train. We'll see how she fishes in a few weeks when bass opens. Either way I don't see myself ever paying full retail for one of these rods.

I miss the days of sub 6' rods being standard. You're one of the few that really grasps the short lever principle, too.

Thanks!

Note, too, that none other than the great Hank Parker has been promoting a pistol grip casting rod on his TV fishing show. Hank grew up with these and so did I. We are both the same age as I recall and they were popular years ago. Hank can cast his short rod into places that are hard to hit with a longer rod. I think he pulled in a 7 pounder on one of his shows.

Yes, go get a 10 ft. rod, make it a stiff one, and have a ball catching one pound bass that feel like double digit monsters.

Or, heck, if you aren't using the rod to make long casts? Go short.

Brad

i use my 5'6' pistol grip when on private waters and ponds ... in a jon boat ... some close spaces ... that's when it shines and the entry into the water is smooth and unobtrusive ... great presentation ...

good fishing ...

Should do well with jerkbaits, too.

What do you throw with this combo? I've got the same rod. I even had the same reel paired up with my 754c Xtasy at the end of last year but I switched from a tat sv 8:1 to a metanium 8:5 for throwing jigs this year. I love both combos. Skipping was easier with the tat but I love the metanium for palming on the retrieve.

The lightest rod I own is a Croix Legend X 7'1MH, and I recently got a deal on a used Aldebaran 50G.. so naturally I had to put the two together. This combo is so stupidly light it's like a toy. I get why people love magnesium reels.

Good luck trying to fish anything 6.9oz and up now, unless your in 30+ feet of water or targeting giant catfish and carp................

Are the cork handle from an Abu reel?  If so then they have larger knob diameters than Daiwa/Shimano.  I don't know what size shafts the Kawa handle has.  I am going to remove my Kawa knobs from the handle and fit them to a Daiwa style carbon handle at some point.

If the Kawa handle won't take Abu knobs then you can get a Ray's Studio DIY carbon handle for $30 off Aliexpress.  They come in an Abu knob shaft version.

Got my Rays Studio handle today, ordered on the 3rd when you posted this. Perfect. The number of mm’s can be deceiving. Some 105mm handles are nearly identical to 90mm handles, because of the location of the knob posts. It was packaged nicely and is exactly what I needed. Stock knobs fit perfect. Thanks ?

Sometimes the seller measures the entire length of the handle from end to end.

The correct measurement should be from center post to center post.

I have asked them before how they measure the handle if I'm not certain.

The handles from Rays studios are usually really good. They measure theirs the correct way.

The Kawa handles are pretty decent too. And they take daiwa knobs.

Curado dc high speed, right handed, used a half a season and it works great just not a fan and find it kind of limiting willing to trade for older high end Daiwa reels and Megabass rods

Megabass Evoluzion F1 1/2 X63 Ti Espada.  It's a 6'3" "slow" or moderate action light powered casting rod.

Huh, there is a current JDM Destroyer rod like that I think.  Is it meant for topwaters?

It could be used for that.  I think it is for the baby versions of the Megbass hardbaits.

Ah.  I love the idea of tiny hardbaits but trebles and light line is like playing roulette on a wheel with six zeros.
