I was able to sneak out the other night after getting the kids to sleep and ran into a new PB! 6lbs 3oz at a little lake by my house. I found an offshore weedline in about 10ft of water on my portable

Kinda rough weather in northern IL today but I've been on this 3-day weather pattern the last couple weeks (fishing the 3rd day of warm day/warmish night trend) and today is the target day. I decided

Yes, Rock River. I found a gold mine stretch for smallies. Started figuring out the walleye bite alittle as well.

Stopped at my favorite retention pond for 1/2 hour on the way home, caught 2 but only took a picture of this one.

If any of you guys know Rick Fry, it is my understanding he passed away last night. He was a tournament angler in Northern IL, I used to compete with him. Also a marine mechanic and part time guide in N Illinois and S Wisconsin. Don't know the details.

Fall bite is on boys and girls…picked up a nice late-summer bass of almost 3lbs today at Whalon Lake.

Double-Colorado spinnerbait.

Was glorious fishing today without being drenched in sweat!

Let the feast begin!!

It’s hog snatchin’ season! Hopefully will get another tomorrow, gonna go out instead of watching another dreadful Bears game.

Tight lines this weekend. ?

That is one good looking bass?? And yeah I’m with you on the Bears although instead of fishing  I’ve got to get my lawn mowed.

Anyone have an opinion on Shabbona lake? Looking to bass fish this week.

Wish I could help. Been many years since I fished it.

Nice one! What’d you get it on? I’ve been thinking about going over to the Waukegan Harbor sometime soon to give it a try.

I haven’t been in a long time but I have a cousin that goes there once a month or so that has a lot of luck based on the pics he sends me.

Man you guys are crushing it, fall bite is here!  I've finally gotten out again over the last week--all three were predawn trips, got a few decent ones to eat the wake-and-crank.  Great storm coming up tomorrow morning, hope I'll be able to get out there.  Tight lines, guys.

Nice ones! I’ll have to check that bait out I’ve had a lot of success on a boogie back this year and that looks similar.

That is the Boogie ha, good eye.

Last couple days I've gotten out again, quick trips on the way to work.  Mid-day, so no topwater action, but I got a couple good ones; one on the Tiny Klash, then the next day, same spot, got one on the Savage Gear pulse tail gill.  Fall bite is still going...

Smallies are going on the hair bite. Definitely liking alittle extra sumptin attatched to it though. Tuesday it was a live piece of crawler. Today it was a little bps speed shad. Alot of little ones bud did lose a biggun.

Ooooh, the hair jig! I just scooped a few of those this past winter to try for the ice-out cold water bite but didn't really put time into em on the water. I've never fished them but they look like a fun way to catch em (and I love standard jigs). You think they work for pond bass (bluegill eaters) too?

You are catching some mighty fine bass there my friend!! Nice!!

Any local anglers interested in a meet up? Would be cool to get together and wet some lines! We can also be our own “hard water support group” through the winter.

Ive been trying to round up some buddies for a fishing trip to Lake Fork or Okachobee but we can never get schedules to align.

Im out in Naperville

As long as there’s open water in the river, you wont see me on the hard water lol. Love the idea of a meetup but it just never seems to line up.

Depends on the pond. Im not sure bout round weeks, but if you have rip rap, that could be deadly. You would probably be intrigued by preacher jigs, but thats an open water structure technique in the south.

if you really want to try something fun, get yourself a ml/xf 6’10’’ st croix and some small 1/16 to 3/32oz marabou jigs in all colors as long as they are black. I could see that being a dynamite pond presentation throughout the year.

message me and i can probably hook you up with some jigs to try.
