I got that also, I deleted it right away, it was too tempting.

what is your favorite lure?!
Sorry to hear that LBH.... gotta learn the hard way, but at least you weren't dumping potential PB's!!! I'm not a big fan of the gammy's these days either. Had a toad bend a 6/0 gammy superline. It was my fault (straight braid with the drag buttoned down in a lake with GIANTS) but non the less.

Anyone own a street bike (Crotch Rocket)???
I've always wanted one but had a friend die on one and had a hard time thinking of owning one after that. I'm ready to let go and started looking around, but i'm lost. There are so many choices. I've been riding dirt bikes for the past 8 years so i know how to ride. I don't need a 1000cc bike that can do 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. I'm looking more around the 600-800 class. I'm a tall guy (6-6) so one main concern is bar/seat height. I'm looking for a bike that is comfortable for taller people that isn't going to cause me back pain after 1hr of riding. So does anybody have bikes, what kind? Any thoughts? Thanks guys.

Powell rod owners???
I own the 704 CB and compared to my cheaper rods, it has an extremely light tip. I have it paired with a curado 100d so the whole combo weighs around 10 oz i think. I throws the lightest of lure's and is one of my favorite rods (Besides my loomis Swim bait rod)

what is your favorite lure?!
LBH - Are you using eagle claw hooks or what? We shouldn't be seeing that unless we are seeing multiple DD's on the "Outing;s" page. Time to upgrade to some owners!!!! Favorite bait to throw is the 3:16 Wake Jr. Just something about it.

Want to get into swimbaits?
Think they discontinued it though. 3:16 had the armagedon that was a couple hundred i believe. Discoed as well.

Do you listen to music when you fish?
If the bite sucks, then i'll listen to the tunes, otherwise i like to concentrate on fishing. I like the upbeat rock/metal

Crucial drop shot rods
I own the the 7'2" M Crucial DS Rod. I use it for all light line applications. Small jigs, small jerk baits, small wacky rig, Drop shotting, and I also use it for trout. I'm not a big fan of using it in deep water, I've had hookup problems. For the price and warranty, it's a sick rod.... you'll be happy

swim bait?
That's like asking what's a rod and who makes um? Your question is a very broad one. Use the search feature to find recent posts regarding swimbaits and also check out the articles on the front page, read them and then come back and ask any questions you might have. People could write a novel on the question you just asked. A broad answer for you would be - A bait that looks and swims like a fish. Almost all bait manufactures make some sort of swimbait.

What rod and reel did you catch your PB with?
On my epic day, my cardiff 400 broke on my second fish only 20 minutes into our trip. I ended up using 4bizzs' loomis 955 with a cardiff 300 lined with 20# with a 8in hudd

eakins jigs
My box is full of them, but recently decided to start the custom jig trend. I have no complaints with them. For the price they seem to be awesome.

night fishing
For the most part, you can't go wrong. On a personal level, I like to use larger baits and dark colors, where as during the day i might use small baits and lighter colors. See what works for you

Broken Shimano Crucial Rod
Just for future reference, you don't even have to take it to the same store. I broke mine with a door, took it to a different store than I bought it from. Didn't have my receipt, just gave then 15 or 20 bucks and got a brand new one. I even told them how I did it and they didn't care. Shimano's policy is pretty sweet.

You can only bring three rods, what do you bring?
7'2" M Spinning Outfit (Finesse) 7'11" Swimbait rod (All Swimbaits) 7'0" MH Baitcaster (Jigs, Small swimbaits, etc)

Watched the last half. Again... I took it for what it was and enjoyed it.

New at this, need REEL advice!
get two nice combos instead of one high end one, trust me you are at a disadvantage fishing with one baitcaster. You need to cover techniques get a 200$ reel and a flipping stick then another 200$ reel and a 7' mh fast action to cover a lot of fishing. Gotta agree, if your getting serious into bass fishing, it is much better to have a couple mid/high combos rather than 1 high combo. You definately want to cover the different techniques by having a some combo's. Good luck

Small to medium Swimbait setup
If your into the round reels, try a cardiff 300 or 400. The 300 is a good size for the small/med swimbaits, and it's only 100 bucks. I like the 400 for the bigger swimbaits when cause it holds more of the big line. But like RW said, you don't need anything special for mattlures, but once you start with a small swimbait, your very likely to get hooked and soon as you know it, you'll be throwing hudd's, wake jr's etc. You may say you won't now, but you will eventually break down. I told myself I would never spend more than $40 on a bait, that didn't last long, i just recently bought a $100 Triple Trout. Good luck on your swimbait journey

Braided line questions
As stated above, you have been lucky. Another plus to using backing is you end up getting two spools worth of braid from one filler spool. I would definately step it up, at the very least 30. Personally i never use anything less than 50. I just add a leader if I need smaller or larger line.

Tackle - am I missing anything
LOL LBH, you've become quite the swimbait guru. Time to change your name. Gotta ad some sore of small swimbait to the list. 6" hudd, mission fish, etc.

Free boats cost a lot of money!!!
Couldn't of said it better. my $500 16ft fiberglass Chrysler cost me about 1,500-2,000, but it's a fishing animal now. Way better than beating the bank

Can't get my self to use crankbaits.........
They were my go to bait when I was pounding ponds back in the day, but I have WAY to many lures that I would rather use than a crank. But they are a great lure when looking for fish. I should use them more often
