Ozark Trail Spinnerbaits
If that swivel works good, it will catch. And if the hook is sharp.

Finesse vs Power Fishing
I usually start by power fishing mainly because i'm geeked ... i am OUT ON THE LAKE FISHING! (i don't get the chance to nearly enough) It also allows me to cover more water faster. I can count on 1 hand the # of times i powerfished the whole day.....

Chatterbait colors
I thought that fishing clear, natural lakes i should stick with whitish, bluegill , and brownish colors. My eyes were opened when i fished with a friend that makes his own. (not "assembled", but modifying a stock jig mold, etc.) Firecraw. It's a real thing even in clear water. Spring thru fall. In the spring i thought ok, that is supposed to work. But in the middle of summer? I wouldn't have thrown it, but i was hauling water in the back of his boat throwing a bluegill looking color. Meanwhile he was getting gooduns with his firecraw. I switched and started catching too. This happened a few more times throughout the season. I still throw white or bluegill first. (duh!) Firecraw next. Throwing a firecraw type color in clear water in summer goes against everything i thought i knew.

Thankful !!
My dad got me started when i was around 8 years old - fishing for crappie and then later for lm with a small minnow under a pencil bobber. That was ok for a couple of years, but we wanted more. Some good fishing magazines came out in the early '70's, and i got all of them. Fake lures! Mepps size 0 plain agaila was my first lure. Then a hula popper. I was hooked. A friend of my dad showed him a Kelley's Plow Jockey. For those that don't know, it was a pre-rigged skinny worm with 3 hooks. That was it. Bass killer. We caught them for 3 years using nothing but those. After that, i wanted to fish differently than dad, so while he casted towards the shoreline, i was throwing deep. Dad never gave up his plow jockeys until he couldn't fish anymore. (health and passing 20 yrs. ago) I would love to fish with him again and show him you can catch bass in deeper water than 8'. Magazines and tv shows had the biggest influence in me. Oh, and you guys too...

Bling or no bling
Yes, keep the bling under the surface, not above it.

Drone fishing is wrong!
Roland was saltwater fishing using a drone. First to scout some fish, then to take his bait to them.

My Jerkbait Game is No Good
The baits you already have will work. Learn where, when, and how to catch fish with them, and then add to your arsenal as you see fit. You may find out that you don't like fishing with jerkbaits anyway. There, i saved you a few bucks..no thanks needed.

What is considered "finesse" fishing?
Most of us older folk think finesse means ul to ml spin tackle, small baits, and 4 & 6 # line, with slow to medium retrieve speeds. Like just about everything else these days, the lines have been blurred.
