Dang it ajay, you made it snow down here today. My best for both is still under 5#, but over 4. I lost my pb sm (ripped the rear treble off my topwater) 10 feet from the boat. I know that would've pushed 6, but she don't count. Pb's to everyone this year.

My frog / pike rod has 50#braid, but my other 6 bc's get 12 and 14# xl This year i spent less than $20 on line.

I have for 20 or so years kept a record of my trips. Just 1 line for each trip on the old notepad. Date, lake, guest?, solunar table (0 - 100) from bassmaster mag.), all fish caught(record length), sky, and any different weather conditions (strong wind etc.). In the spring i will note water temp. The only time i refer to it is in the spring.

I only have the leader fishin sunday. no - the dark green section is good. We're average.

I would put new line on at least 2 of them if i were you. If you don't and they all coil up cannot be used, at least you have a couple to play with. Better than going home completely bummed.

I have to disagree with Capt. Phil a little bit. The diameter of my spro crosslock is larger than the o ring on the bait, so i remove the line tie split ring and attach my snap. Yes, my snap weighs more than an o ring, but c'mon, it's negligible. If you're fishing hard baits, the fish aren't gonna think" i would hit that crankbait, but it has a snap on it." They probably can't see it. And looking unnatual? I fish with unnatural looking baits (shape/color/action) . Everyone does. And i fish in clear water. Mfr's. don't include a snap because split rings are cheaper. I do tie direct to surface lures, jigs, soft plastics. My $.50 (inflation/covid) ?

A $40 reel will make it very hard to learn how to use a baitcaster.
