  1. True South Custom Lures Gamer heads for me. I like the eyes and 2/0 Owners! A little "finessey" ,but I mostly throw smaller swimbaits on these in a little restricted lake close to home that is absolutely loaded with little spotted bass.
  2. Very cool Glenn! Someone should start a "Guess what Glenn Buys" thread ..LOL
  3. Legend has it that pro Angler Charlie Hartley has caught a fish (bass or otherwise) every day for years now. We would have to find someone that knows him to confirm, but i think i remember him confirming as fact on BTL a while back. Must be great to be retired!
  4. I thought this thread would be a great place to let you all know what kind of sales we have goin on. The 2 below are expiring the end of day on Feb 1st 2024, but I have something special in the works for the Bass Resource Community coming very soon! Currently Use Code HENDRIX24 for 20% off all Hendrix Baits products, expires EOD Feb. 1st, 2024 Use Code SADIE15 for 15% off of all Flatlands Custom Tackle products, expires EOD Feb. 1st, 2024

    Welcome to Bass Resource!
  6. Welcome Ryan!
  7. You nailed it my friend! I hope we can become the platform that the small batch independent guys can utilize to be competitive and gain recognition. I am always looking for more to work with. If you have some favorites, please share the site with them, there is a drop down box in the "contact us" menu for potential manufacturers to reach out. I would love to see what they have to offer! I appreciate your support! Terry
  8. Find a small shadow box for that Big-O, or one of those acrylic cubes for autographed baseballs might work as well. Start yourself a collection of family fishing memorabilia. I have a shelf in my office that is covered with framed fishing pics of my father, brother, sons, and myself. It gives me a lot of joy to look up at them from time to time and remember all of those days on the water. One of my pride and joy items is an old candy jar full of corks and bobbers I have picked up floating on the water of picked out of trees.
  9. Thank you for the warm introduction Glenn! And thank you all for welcoming me to the community! From the beginning, I knew that if an upstart company such as Vantage Tackle was going to be successful, I would need the support of the strongest, most centralized group of bass fisherman on the web. I look forward to the comradery, advice, and knowledge sharing that Bass Resource has long been known for, and I am honored that Glenn and his team have given me the opportunity to be a part of this family. Sincerely, Terry Thornton
  10. I'll probably be there for a day or two. I will not be able to fish, but getting together to tell some lies is definitely on the table! Let's be sure to revive this thread as it gets closer.
  11. Maybe a shoal bass. Was it caught in a river system or pond?
  12. Buzz bait and whopper will always have enough differences in action and "fishability" to keep them both relevant. However, if someone finds a way to make a Whopper Plopper squeak......
  13. At the very least, a new "screaming frog" setting for your Hydrowave....
  14. I would guess that there is not too much pressure on Bass at Talquin, it's a destination spot in Florida for crappie. I have always wanted to try it out for bass. I've been there a lot with my old man on his "crappie pontoon" boat. Lots of fun for sure
  15. We got a great club based in Warner Robins. Obviously most of the lakes we fish are close to Atlanta. Send me a PM if interested
  16. I'm not sure about the North East, but sometimes down south the catfish come up at dark and gorge themselves on mayfly carcasses. They get so worked up that the splashes could easily be mistaken for bass. Just a thought. Saw them doing it on Sinclair Friday night
  17. X2...all the other ideas are great, but this suggestion will save you some monies and help you to gain some invaluable experience. Keep reading and continue practicing. Take time to enjoy catching a few fish and gaining confidence in one technique before you introduce yourself to the bait monkey.
  18. Prayers sent brother
  19. The best advice has already been given above. Stick with the basic blue/blacks and green/watermelons. All the other crazy colors are used strictly for Googan Squad YouTube challenges ?
  20. X2 Defintely the swamp crawler. It's an absolute killer rigged weightless in small ponds down south
  21. This x2!!! LMBO!
  22. I have got them apart in the past with 2 pairs of pliers. I used several wraps of electrical tape on both sections to protect the blank. Then used the pliers to gently twist the 2 sections in opposite directions. Once the seal they have formed is broken, they should work loose easy enough. It is a risky technique, best used only as a last resort, but it has worked for me.
  23. You 2 gentlemen stay safe out there. From what I here, gator bites hurt like a butt cheek on a stick!!
  24. Up around Macon: Jarvis lake Lake Juliette Tobesofkee High Falls All within a 30 minute drive from Macon. Send me a PM, maybe we can meet up and try one or two them one weekend!
