rage tail craw
Glad you guys like'em Keep in mind that often a fresh fish thrashing on the surface or in the boat is where most soft plastics receive the largest extent of damage and also where the claws on Rage Craws will get torn off the most. So if and when you can keep that to a minimum, I think you'll find your they will last much longer Now go kick some more Bass ;D Big O www.ragetail.com

*The Journey Of A New Pond* (Updating Frequently)
This time of year, Night fishing is an excellent way to find out about size opportunities in a lake like you're describing. And buzz baits over the grass is the fastest way to get'r'dun. If the grass is too thick in some areas, throw Buzz type Toads or Rage Shad to give you the same splash and noise yet no prop fouling. If there are deeper pockets with grass surrounding, fish the edges with T rigged Soft plastics and rattling jig'n'craw. 6/0 - 1/4 oz Weighted hook with that Annie will drag'em out too. I would love to fish that lake with you....It looks terrific and if it has held good water for several years, I think you're gonna whack a giant there Big O www.ragetail.com

My trip to Lake Jackson, FL
Obviously you were in Lake Jackson, Tallahassee because I notice you mentioned Church Cove and I am very familiar with that area from many moons ago. The water is normally extremely clear on that lake and it is fished quite a bit due to being in the City. I would definitely change tactics on the line and use a quality fluoro instead of braid. As far as bait choices, You are on the right track but might add in Toads or top action baits early and late over the grass and moss beds as well as Big Curl tail worms either Tx rig or on 6/0 - 1/4 oz weighted hook and fish in the grass edges and over grass. The weighted hook set up should be fished slow allowing bait to fall completely to a stop, feel then slow lift and fall....repeat. A weighted hook that has the weight positioned further back in the bend of the hook is best for this technique and I am partial to a weighted hook that Moaner Hooks just came out with because it is designed perfectly for this. Also best prices in the industry. That old lake has monster fish in it and they like big soft plastics fished slow. Don't hesitate to use other larger profile softies on the weighted hook as well. Large action packed Craws and Creature baits will work as well..... Although I haven't fished there in many years, one of my long time best friends has lived on the lake behind the deepest sink hole for 45 years, and he and his sons fish there on a regular basis. All of the above info is exactly what what works best for them but I'm not sure exactly which baits they are using.... ;D BTW, there are several deeper trenches or drainages in the middle of the lake that run 500 yrds or more in length. I used to fish the edges of the trenches with 1/4 oz Tx rigged Big worms or jig and Craws and slay'em. Bet they're still there Good luck on your tournament and fish safe Big O www.ragetail.com

Help BRF! New fishing hole...
X2 and use a 6/0 - 1/4 oz weighted hook (like a Moaner Hook) on the Anaconda and fish it like a Tx rig bait. Let fall on top of grass, feel, slow lift and let fall Game ON Big O www.ragetail.com

Strike King Smokin Rooster
Funny you say this doesn't work that well for topwater, I was flipping/pitching around one of the docks here at work. I made a bad cast and reeled it in really quick to make a better cast and it was ripping across the top of the water and this nice 4lb bass came shooting out of the docka and annihilated it !!!!! I have used them on top with success as well but let's just say I have several other choices for to consider... ;D Glad you like'em Big O www.ragetail.com

Strike King Smokin Rooster
Glad you like'em MB650....Think you will find, with the exception of topwater, this design can do it all extremely well. It's one of my top two in each of these presentation techniques: C rig, Flippin, Tx rig, Swim jig or weighted hook swimmer. Don't hesitate to tip the edges of the tail and or wings with JJ's Chartreuse, This has been the ticket several times to increase the bite numbers Here's a link with some rigging info. that might help http://www.ragetail.com/SmokinRooster.html Fish Safe Big O www.ragetail.com

The night bite, Help with some lures
1) Big Black Spinnerbaits with #5 minimum Colorado (use trailer hook) 2) 10" Annie or Thumper 3) Rattlin' Jig w/Lobster trailer 4)Rage Shad on top...big noise and can throw it in any type of water without getting fouled up. Can also use weighted hook on it and C rig it for deep cranking in front of mossbeds much like a spinnerbait or swimbait yet smaller profile and moves more water. 5) hard to beat a jitterbug in still or low wind conditions Big O www.ragetail.com

Guntersville Elite....Skeet wins again!
Yeah, Mark Davis is a Class Act and we're all lucky to have folks like him representing our favorite pastime to the masses Always smiling and nothing but good things to say about the competition.... I remember one night at an event, there were about 30 other Pro's and family members just sitting around listening to Big Mark tell a barrage of colorful stories from his past. He kept each of us on the edge of our seat for over an hour as we went from laughs to tears and back to laughing again....After he concluded, many of us realized that he never made light of any of his own accomplishments but moreover bragged on his competitors for overcoming unbelievable odds to shine..... Do I want Mark to win.......Yeah, him or somebody just like'em Big O www.ragetail.com
