  1. I’ve fished from several kayaks from a Dagger Delta (small sit inside) up to a Nucanoe Frontier (absolute battleship). Go get some time in it paddling in water shallow enough to stand in. Do things to tip it just to see where that point is. If it’s your first trip in your first kayak, give it some time to learn the boat and learn what you’re doing.
  2. Let me start with - you’ll be great either way with aluminum. The only reason I’d go glass is if you think you’ll be doing Norman and Badin more than the others. The lakes here just aren’t that big, and they’re mostly somewhat riverine. Aluminum is easier to tow to get around, and I’ve not been in anything my little aluminum couldn’t handle locally. Now, they are not big lakes and they can get a lot of traffic in the summer that a heavier glass boat would be more steady on. But for the amount of time that the lakes are truly busy, I don’t think it offsets the ease in towing and handling of a good aluminum. Ymmv
  3. I do a lot of drifting and pulling for catfish…it’s mostly replaced bass fishing for me on my major lakes. Great action and fish from 2 lbs up to 40+. It’s as great time.
  4. It for dang sure is in Memphis in the summer!
  5. It’s not accurate. It’s arbitrary and really kind of a silly blanket statement. Try both the next time you have your kayak out on the river and see which you prefer. But they’re definitely not the same technique
  6. It was mentioned above but go to BassOro/Cabelas/Academy/whatever store you have with a decent selection and let them try them on. Fit is crucial in the event they end up in the water, as is the buckle that goes between or around their legs. The proportions of their little bodies will let them slip out the bottom of vests.
  7. Space Monkey. You’re welcome
  8. I can’t imagine trying to double haul a a-rig fly - I have enough trouble with big streamers
  9. Depending on where you’re going, look for passes where the ocean meets inter coastal waterways and or rivers. Paddle tails in white or orange or pink, redfish spinnnerbaits, spooks/spooklike walkers, and saltwater jerkbaits. I always have a white soft plastic jerkbaits tied on as a follow-up lure.

Wow - THAT was a great ballgame with a great ending!
  11. I’m soon to be on my third grate and heat deflectors for my Spirit. I need to do the starter too but I just light it. We’ve had it over 7 years and it gets used 2-3 times a week year ‘round.
  12. Canseco was a ridiculous hitter, but definitely NOT a rocket scientist.
  13. ^^^ This is the way. Consistency and nutrition. You have to make it a habit and consistent part of your life. Weight is about calories in/out. Strength is about challenging your muscles and giving them the nutrition they need. Unlike some gurus would lead you to believe, it’s not rocket science. The important part is doing it.
  14. Strike King Perfect Plastic Caffeine Shad for the trailer. Size based on what size buzz you throw.

@Catt Similarly curious strike zone this inning against the Demon Deacons
  16. If it’s that tight and under the boat I free spool it and use my thumb until I can get a little better control. Best to start with your drag a little loose than too tight with stripers.
  17. Made my day right there!
  18. Weird strike zones in the college World Series…
  19. Consistency and price mostly. If the small pizza shop you’re patronizing isn’t a place you’ve had before it can be a huge roll of the dice. Also, kids. And kids’ birthday parties.
  20. If you make the perfect cast, you will foul on your hook or a leaf or a random filament of something that shouldn’t be there.
  21. I only use it on my reels with Big Game on them. Used together they are full blown magic. ??
  22. Just like marriage, until they’re happy again.
  23. I doubt the clarity is affecting them. It’s more likely the warm water temperatures that go with the blooms and the post spawn blues that are decreasing their activity.
  24. ‘Tis but a flesh wound…
