  1. I’ve never been a huge fan of anything finished in a port cask.
  2. I had a fresh Apple fritter from OMG in Concord NC one morning while taking my kid and his friends to Great Wolf Lodge. It was the best doughnut I’ve ever had, and I’ve had A LOT.
  3. I love this thread. That is all.
  4. Also: https://www.cnn.com/2023/05/29/health/leg-muscles-heart-attack-study-wellness/index.html Don't skip leg day!
  5. It’s not limitations that limit you. It’s not recognizing them. Age is just a number. A number that hurts. ?
  6. Freshwater cod/ling?
  7. I was gonna say - where did you tie in to that thing? It looks like your line slid and probably just about cut it in half.

Also lighter line helps those small houses work better. Light fluoro even better still.
  9. Barf. But at least it’s not Crimson and it doesn’t have a Gator on it. GBO!
  10. Big fishing is like hunting - you’re looking for a spot to run into a big fish. Find those spots for your water and fish an appropriate bait for those spots.
  11. For advice - When you feel that buzz and tug of a fish, set the hook. Hard. Otherwise it sounds like you got it.
  12. There’s literally a few dozen solutions, paper towel tubes being the cheapest and it goes up through Tupperware to custom boxes from there.
  13. Google ‘bait wallet’ and then pick the size you need at whatever price point. I like Lakewood and have a large box by them. There’s also a ton of videos on the Swimbait websites about making hanging carriers from small Rubbermaid boxes.
  14. There’s wallets similar to a spinner bait wallet, there hanging boxes you can make yourself, 3700 boxes with hooks or a rubber band at the end to hold the head, etc. there’s a million different solutions, just depends on how many baits
  15. I have a couple c-10s on my ultralight rods. They are about 500 sized at best so I would think the c-20 is 1000 and the c-30 is 2000/2500ish. Ymmv really good reels for the price though
  16. Lost one kayaking long ago - Flipped it open to answer a call or take a pic and it kept going. It worked for about the first twenty feet of depth. Lost a pair of sunglasses reaching for it. That 3 seconds cost me about $500.
  17. They’re a great fight until you realize what they are!
  18. I want to see the drum!!!!
  19. Most of the bridges on Falls cross the main lake body. If they were going right to left, looking to their right, they wouldn’t see somebody coming down lake. Bad place to be if visibility isn’t good. Glad everyone is ok. Summer is coming - be safe out there
  20. Oh when you put it in all caps IT CLEARED IT RIGHT UP! THANKS! ????
  21. ‘Older vehicles are generally less reliable’ i just don’t find this to be true if a reliable vehicle is maintained and used in the manner that it was intended. I drive a 2006 4Runner that I dearly love. You hide and watch - it won’t start tomorrow.
  22. Laphroig is probably a good one for you to start with that’s findable.
  23. CL8 Baits actually makes some great small glides in addition to his Possums that he’s known for. If find them to glide better and more consistently than the R2S small size.
  24. Those are the fun sized - they’re a great fight and not too big to manage without a net. You’re darn right about the slims though - it’s gross. I had one grab a hudd fishing in DC several years ago. Never got to see it but between the tooth mark on my hudd and the length of line that had slime on it, it was a beast
  25. I had the exact same thing happen but it caught me right next to my right eye - I opened up juuust enough for it to miss my helmet and get my face. No masks in high school back then. I was out cold for a few seconds then they left me in the game.
