  1. Put bolts through your bunks with additional swing out bunks that function like a bunk ramp. If you only need 5-6 feet a couple 8ft 2x4s should get er done.
  2. @Bazoo Here’s your Pond Prowler/Bass Raider thread!
  3. In a shallow river after a certain size, mostly birds - herons, ospreys, eagles, hawks.
  4. Yeah they range less when the water is clear and the sun is high. They get big by eating and not being eaten so they’ll tuck in under boulders and tight to sweepers when you have those conditions. You have to really put it close in some tight places usually. Much better at dawn and dusk in those circumstances, and in faster water.
  5. The answer is in the depth you want it to hit and with what current. You can add suspend dots and/or strips to the front sections or add lead wire or gold tape to the hook hangers if you don’t want to buy another bait. Add the amount that the next heavier sink rate would be if that makes sense.
  6. Great vintage - IYKYK!
  7. Those will be adequate. But when you run out, those Owners are the bees’ knees. +1 for me in the Caffeine Shad. It has good weight and a great shimmy. FYI flukes/soft jerkbaits come in many shapes - don’t limit them to just ones with forked tails.
  8. The mouth, the fins, the body shape, and coloration would all point to bluegill, probably a female. Really doesn’t matter in this case - Just make sure if you plan to keep fish that you are good at identification.
  9. Yeah we did not look great against AP. Hopefully that was our game of laying an egg that we always have.
  10. I like pickle juice and mustard too. I’d quit the hydration tablets unless you are working long hours in a hot environment. They just pull water away from your body if you have a surplus. I’ll go a different direction- work in your flexibility and stability with some yoga. It helps a ton in blood flow. And drink more water.
  11. You’re all wrong. It’s an underwater point or a submerged isthmus. ? The Rock Voice: IT DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOU CALL IT! Just fish it.
  12. That reel will do 3/8 with no problem with the right rod. Getting it cleaned and properly lubed helps a ton with ease of casting. FWIW - most any 50-200 sized modern baitcaster will handle those weights. Even down around 1/4 oz.
  13. I would find/figure out the leak before tearing anything down - how much water are we talking ?
  14. Looking at that I think what you’re proposing is a lot of work depending on where the leak is. If it’s one of the through bolts or rivets, I would just deal with that bolt/river with something like gluvit or a sealing adhesive. My free advice comes with a 100% money back guarantee. Where’s the leak?
  15. +1 on both the G2 and Mattlure bluegill and baby bluegill. MS Slammer in whatever size you feel comfortable with won’t hurt your wallet too much and catches fish of all sizes. I have min, 7” and 9” and they’re all great.
  16. Drug my teenager out of bed this morning at 5 AM to make some &%#ing memories if it kills me… Great big Mountain Island Lake chunked donkey to end the day. It drug our little tin all over the place.
  17. That looks like a barfed up dried out small bluegill.
  18. When you appreciate every second of the now because you know what the past is and the future will be you really love the gift of the present.
  19. You have to ask yourself: 1. Is this baby mine? ‘No’ - Don’t go to the shower. ’Yes’ - You’re going to need a bigger decision tree. And scotch.
  20. You could also just tie a knot in a piece of weed eater twine and stick that in the pee hole. The knot will keep it from going too far in and the memory of the twine should hold it in we’ll enough but let it get blown out if you forget.
  21. That’s fantastic news!
  22. I lost my dad about 8 years ago. It is what I would imagine losing a leg is like. You are off balance for a long time, and it’s not a matter of getting back to normal; it’s a matter of re-establishing what normal is. What you are going through is terribly hard, but it is normal. Emotional healing is very hard, and it’s not always apparent when it’s good or when it’s still raw. Talking about it is good, so you’re on the right track. Sometimes it’s one day at a time, sometimes it’s one hour or minute at a time. It doesn’t matter as long as you keep moving it forward.
