  1. Talent can be variable but there’s no expiration date on effort.
  2. All the positive thoughts and support - hoping for good modern medicine and a little luck.
  3. Yeah I’m pretty sure many of us survived things way dumber than that in our teens and 20s.

Mach 3 and OG Barbasol. I’ve tried about every number of blades out there and everything from brush/foam to higher end gels. Those two get it done and leave some scratch in the bourbon budget.
  5. I’d suggest you fish it more than a couple times - usually what you want and what you really need will become readily apparent. It’ll be better for that ancient Mariner if you run it some too!
  6. No - but I have driven over it about 1000 times and wondered about fishing it.
  7. I think you’ve already made your decision. It’s up to you what you do with it.
  8. What is the old saying? Don’t go looking for something if you can’t handle what you find. You want to buy him a beer and ask him his side of the story and report back? Otherwise it sounds like he’s made his peace with justice, done his time, and is trying to get back to work. If you can’t work with him maybe it’s not the company for you. Would I invite him around my wife or daughter? Probably not. Could I build a house or assemble a car or dig a ditch with him? 100%
  9. YOU’RE MY BOY, BLUE!!! although that may be a fat channel, can’t really see the whole fin…
  10. FINALLY I was wondering how this would turn out. Are they dimensionally the same or is the material thicker?
  11. @slonezp you get your replacements yet?
  12. Some of you aren’t reading the question - it’s not a gut-hook; the fish took his plastic with a screw head. Those fish will almost certainly be fine. More than likely they spit the plastic after they realized it was plastic. Even if not that should pass through them fine, if maybe slowly.
  13. Truer words never spoken. Beautiful frosty morning and then that little bit of warmth and…BOOM…you’re studying the back of your eyelids.
  14. I chased down a little Shiba Inu that was literally wandering in traffic one Friday in Alexandria, looking confused. Grabbed it by the scruff and scooped it over to the side of the road and got one of my dog’s leashes on it. It was biting me the whole time but old enough that it didn’t break the skin. My wife just looked at me and goes - ‘well that was stupid’ and she was right.
  15. Dude - save 90% of your money and go get them in the Potomac and enjoy everything else in the area while you’re there - it’s a fantastic fishery.
  16. Is it two replacements of the one that wasn’t good?
  17. How’d you end up?
  18. I’d switch the food out, just in case. And maybe look for bobcat or cat cat tracks around it to see if something’s putting them off that feeder. Otherwise wait until it gets colder and hopefully they’ll be back.
  19. So it should weigh just under 150 lbs if it is comparable to every other boat of that size and style, give or take 5 or so pounds. Maybe start there as far as how waterlogged the foam is.
  20. Can you post a pic of the boat? And if you can find it there should be an occupancy/hp rating placard or decal on it somewhere. It’d probably help us help you. X2 on the weighing the boat before taking it in half. That foam’s not going to dry out fast but cracking into one can cause more problems than it fixes, depending on age and condition.
  21. If it’s smooth pvc and you have the rods with reels on them in there and you are driving, you are adding weight as it slams the tip section into the end of the tube. If two rods are in there together and even a little interlinked you have the weight of two rods on whatever tip is sticking further out at the end. I take the reels off, foam in the ends and stuff a few plastic bags or rags in either end so the rods can’t move much.

It couldn’t hurt but if it’s inside in the a/c it’s probably not necessary. I wouldn’t have them anywhere they touch the firearms.
  23. The fuel line is still in great shape - I will replace them anyway out of an abundance of caution. I think I probably have a fitting that’s going bad or I smushed one or caught it in the hatch door. I just wanted to make sure it was symptomatic of air in the line - thanks everybody!
  24. I disconnected the tank to fill it - that’s the only change. These fittings are 5+/- years old so it’s probably time to change them out.
  25. So Saturday AM I started the boat as normal after disconnecting the fuel tank to take it to fill up. 6 gallon tank to a 2015 Mercury 20 hp 4 stroke. Quick release at the motor and quick release about two feet from the tank. Primer bulb and fuel demand in line. I thought I heard an air hiss as I primed it but started as normal and off I went. At full power it felt like it throttled way down to idle. It would then throttle back up if I backed it down and back up and then the same thing would happen. Vent was open on the tank, fresh gas. Any thoughts?
