Just got notified by my sister who's been taking care of all the stuff for the parents since they went into Assisted Living.

Dad passed away about 2 hours ago...mom's 'lost' (alzheimer's is really bad with her) - I may no be here for a bit while I help sis take care of things.

Goodbye dad.

Dad and I heading out - circa 1967

Sorry to hear about the loss of your father.  Losing a parent is tough. When it happens, a part of you dies as well.  It's not a bad thing that your mother is not aware of what happened.  My wife and

So sorry to hear this, especially this time of year.    I'll say a prayer that you, and your family find the strength to handle such a difficult time, and ultimate peace over the loss of your father.

My Grandmother passed from Alzheimer's, evil disease but at least I don't think my Grandmother was in the pain that her love ones were feeling.

@MN Fisher My condolences on your loss. @AlabamaSpothunter pretty much said all I could offer. I wish you & your family the best in this difficult time. You & your family will be in many a thought & prayer. 🙏

I'm truly sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I won't offer up anything religious because I know you don't want that. Please know that during this difficult time, our thoughts are with you. Your father was a remarkable person who touched the lives of many. He will be deeply missed.

Remember that it's okay to feel a range of emotions during this time. Grieving is a personal process and there's no right or wrong way to experience it. Take all the time you need to process your feelings and know that it's completely normal to need moments to yourself.

If there's anything we can do to support you, whether it's just listening or helping with daily tasks, please don't hesitate to ask. You're not alone in this, and we're here for you.

Take care of yourself and lean on your loved ones for support. Your father's memory will always be cherished and remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

With heartfelt condolences,

Glenn

So Sorry to hear about your dad. I went through that in 2008. I have a similar picture from the same general time frame as yours with my dad.
