Revo Premier issue resolved.
Every Premier I have ever had has made the squealing on the cast. Abu told me it was the brakes catching up with the spool. The squeal is louder when I'm throwing heavier stuff. I have not noticed anything performance related being wrong with any Premier I have. If I could afford it, I'd have a Premier on every rod I own.

New To Shaky Head
If you can afford it, I'd get the SHR822S GLX. If you can't afford it, don't even touch it, definitely don't pick it up. You'll be skipping the electric bill and cable bill before you leave the store without it. It is hands down the lightest, most sensitive spinning rod I have ever picked up. I used the regular SHR822S for a little while and thought it was a great rod, its just not as light as the GLX and it doesn't have the recoil guides. I've got 2 different reels that I use on my GLX. A Sustain 2500 and a Pflueger Supreme 8030MG. I like the Supreme better simply because it's very light.

I find it hard to believe that it took until the 57th reply for someone to mention jet-skiers. You guys are better than that, everybody feeling ok?

when to use lipless vs. when to use cranks
I generally will throw a lipless bait through an area to pick off the most aggressive fish. Then I will follow up in the area with a billed crank to knock around whatever is down there and try to get the non-aggressive fish to hit on reaction.

Beat the Elites
Yeah, SML will hold the Elite plus the other, plus some more tournaments just fine. We can hook up when you're here, no doubt about it. Just PM me and let me know when and where and I'll be there.

Beat the Elites
You won't hear a cop-out coming from my mouth. It's the truth. There are FAR MORE guys off the trails, back to normal jobs and IN THE HOLE for a long time to come because of 'sacrificing' than there are success stories. The statistics of failure vs. success of making the Elite Tour are most likely staggering. The percentage rate of not making it has to be scaring most guys off. Being able to withstand a $50,000+ loss in one years time is very hard to withstand. Being 'well off' helps and there is no denying that. Sure, it's very possible that nobody that fishes the BTE tournament will top the pro winner, but what if someone does? That guy will have something to talk about plus some money in his pocket. Will the pro who wins the Elite event care? No, not at all. He'll be too busy counting his money, driving down the road in his sponsors truck, pulling his sponsors boat, probably on the way to do some sponsor work before the next tournament.

shakey head
A Spot Remover head is not a shaky head. It is a stand up head. Not knocking the Spot Remover at all....I use them all the time. I think the new Gamakatsu Skip Gap Shaky Heads are going to be a big hit this year. I bought a couple packs a few weeks ago, just couldn't resist.

Naming fishing holes
Yeah, a few of us here do it too. -5 fingers.....a huge cove that has 5 points in it -Dock Blvd.....this is a straight cut off the main lake that is about 1/3 mile long, 75 yards wide and has docks on both sides from front to back. -Willow Point.....pretty obvious, big willow tree on a point (killer spot) -The Forest....spot where I have about 30 brushpiles -Tennis Courts....an area where stripers are found right often and there are some tennis courts up on the hill -One Rock....awesome point on the main channel that has one huge rock on the bottom in about 25' with the main channel swinging about 10 yards from it. -TableTop....small flat in 30' that tops out at about 15'. The top of this flat is only about 50' long x 30' wide There's a few more good ones but these are the ones we talk about the most.

Toray & Sunline???
The Sunline Super FC Sniper is the best I have found for a spinning reel. By far. Very, very abrasion resistant line, super strong, really low memory and probably the smalest dia per # test than ANY of the other carbon lines. The Sunline Super FC Sniper 8# is actually smaller in diameter than 6# Berkley 100% Fluorocarbon. Sunline 8# = (.009 inches/.24mm) Berkley 6# = (.010 inches/.25mm) 2 more lbs of strength in a smaller diameter line. I do use the Berkley 100%, dont get me wrong but only on casting reels and only 10# and up. All my spinning reels have the Sunline Super FC Sniper 6# and 8#. It's expensive but I think it's worth it. I have a couple sample spools of Toray on the way. Planning to use some of that this coming weekend.

Beat the Elites
There are lots of guys who do not have the resources to just up and take off on a cross country trip to fish the Opens to qualify for the Elite Series. Without finacial backing from sponsors, or being just straight up 'rich', its not feasible for the normal weekend guy. This tournament is their measuring stick.

Are all spinnerbaits created equal?
Over the past several years, Lucky Craft baits in general have been good producers, with excellent quality and put many fish in my boat. The new Lucky Craft spinnerbait has earned, at the very least, a shot.
