  1. I see what you're talking about Chris....great job!
  2. The Shimano fans will say no.
  3. Yep.....I fish a DF76 exclusively for all my deep crankin'. It's glass and 7'6" long so it's a little heavier than a graphite or composite rod but I wouldn't consider deep crankin' with anything else.....and by the way,David Fritts IS THE MAN!!

They do hold pretty good but a small drop of soft bait glue doesn't hurt. On your worm, break off about 1/4th inch before putting it on. The Spot Remover Pro's have the actual shaky head type holder.
  5. I know that big catfish really like the GULP! 7" turtleback worms....
  6. Deep water (12+) or real thick brush I use a 3/4 oz, most everywhere else I use a 1/2 oz. , around docks I use 1/4 oz because of the slow fall. Sometimes if I'm fishing really BIG rocks,I'll throw a 3/4 or 1 oz with a rattle even if its shallow and especially if the water has some color......the heavier head hits the rocks a little harder and puts off a little more sound. I like the usual browns and greens but pb&j has been good to me and I always use fluorocarbon except when I'm flippin'....then its braid.
  7. Although the 3X worms are a pain to use....they are by far my favorite on a shaky head......the floating action of the tail is killer.
  8. Thats a good 'un,thanks for the report.....seems most of the Texas crew around the different internet forums have gotten tight-lipped since the fish are up now. I'll be so happy to get to Fork....I rarely see any standing timber or anything remotely close to that type of cover in that background and I never fish grass because there is none in my home lake. I'm steady looking at bluff walls,90 degree mud banks and being in 30 ft of water,20 ft off the bank. I'm ready for a change!
  9. Although I am not a Shimano guy, I'd buy Shimano long before I'd buy a Quantum.
  10. I'm not sure what the fish is called and I have only seen a picture of one of them before.....it was a cross between a smallmouth and a spot. The one I saw a picture of was down south somewhere, maybe Georgia?? it was in Bassmaster a few years ago. It looked alot like that monster in the pic above.
  11. Glenn, are you a Revo man now too? I love every one of mine!
  12. Let's try to get back on topic here fellas. The thread starter wants opinions on specific Dance videos. If you want to argue about how great Bill Dance is,please start a new thread so I can state my opinion. ;D

Okay boys......who's it going to be? I'm picking Faircloth by a pound.
  14. .......if you have deep enough pockets ;D ;D ;D I could of suggested Steez. That would have been fine,my reply would work for that too.
  15. I also see now that you are closer to the sun than we are. ;D
  16. This is what it says on the Lucky Craft website: "DD equals Deep Diver" Listen up all you Pointer fans. Lucky Craft now has a new Pointer minnow to add to their repertoire. The new Pointer 100 DD is a deeper diving version of the popular Pointer 100 SP. This new Pointer 100 DD is a great bait for fishing a few feet deeper than the original 100 SP. This bait will dive about 6-7 feet deep and suspend when paused. It has a wider wobble than the Pointer 100 SP and still has the same body style. This bait can be used for a bigger profile bait in lie of the Staysee 90 SP. When the fish are holding out a little deeper this bait will get in their face and aggravate them to strike.
  17. Went to the lake today for a little fishin' casting practice (water is 40 and muddy) and I had a Pointer 100 DD tied on. I was working over a main lake point with it and about mid-retrieve my phone rings ( > )....get done with the call,(<1 min) take a look out in the water and my DD Pointer is on the surface. I immediatley reel it in and give it a good looking at. Nothing wrong. I clipped it off and tied on another one,it floated up too!!!! Clipped that one off and tied another.....same thing. Ended up trying 4 different DD's and all of them floated up.....whats up? :-? I've been using the Pointer DD's for a while now and never noticed before that they float up.
  18. .....what makes you think that? If it isnt altered,Holy Cow!....that is one heck of a smallmouth!
  19. .......if you have deep enough pockets ;D ;D ;D

I've been on the 3X chunks for a while now......paired with a 1/4 oz finesse jig. The 3X trailer floats like a piece of styrofoam and is a little bigger than the jig which makes the jig fall REALLY SLOW. I like that ultra slow fall around docks and brush.
  21. Yeah,it happens to me too. I can have 10 rods rigged with all different baits and end up not touching 7 or 8 of them all day long. I will usually stick to the old basic stuff (spinnerbait, crank, jig) until I figure out the fish dont want them. Then and only then do I switch to one of the new techniques to try to get bit. I have enough confidence built up that I almost KNOW my basic baits will get me a bite or two before long. I stick with them as long as I can because of the confidence factor.
  22. Just before the tournament,I will put my cull tags in my back pocket and have the measuring board on deck.
  23. Dang avid, that really sucks bro! I was really looking forward to hearing the insightful one-liners in person and throwing back a cold one with you. I wish you well.
  24. CC, hopefully Craw will chime in here. He uses the Daiwa ST's and could give you a good review and honest opinion on them.
