Post a photo a day!
Past several days have been almost summer like as well. But we both know what's coming and Homie don't play that. I am usually scrambling just getting back from Mexico. This year I'm pacing myself. It's sort of a pleasant change. In a big downer kind of way. So I'm good. A-Jay

Cooler Weather Comfort
I go the same route as @Bluebasser86 above. We often have some cold temps by now that routinely include measurable snow. However it's freaking 70 degrees here right now and I'm asking myself why is it that my boat is being "winterized" today ? Btw, I hate fishing in winter gloves. A-Jay

Have you quit fishing before?
I'll be quitting for about 6 months again tomorrow. 15th year in a row. There are some long days & nights waiting for open water. But the bass are always there waiting and willing when I do get to wet a line again. A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Enjoyed my off day yesterday and was back in the home gym this morning. As a 'older' resistance trainer, it may be less about building muscle and more about just working hard to keep the little I may have left. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Must See Documentary: The Social Dilemma
@Koz I have not watched The Social Dilemma documentary on Netflix. Probably never will. What I find interesting is how presenters place the word 'documentary' into the title of something and that somehow and magically makes it 'different' from the rest of the drivel. So often it's not. I can't say when it happened, but soon after the media (and I mean ALL OF IT) became "The Media", seems the definition and the objective changed. Not sure about either at this point. The last 60 plus years has been some interesting & challenging times. People believe they 'know more'. I say what difference does it make ? A-Jay

Show your fishing holes!
Show your fishing holes! I am a huge fan of 'the view' as well. And I have collect quite a few pics of different spots up this way which makes it hard to select a local favorite without doing disservice to at least one. So my 'favorite' here is coming to you straight from Sinaloa, Mexico. This is the view while having lunch at Lake Baccarac Lodge. A-Jay (just noticed that this thread is in the Smallmouth Bass Forum. There's not many brown bass in the lake pictured above).

The drawbacks of a canoe.
All depends on the canoe. Old town square back is just under 16 ft and has a 40 inch beam. Really improves fishability but it goes on a trailer too. So there's that. A-Jay

Smallmouth Leader Line Selection
I fish in some of the clearest water around - early and late season in particular, I can often see the bottom & fish in 20 ft. It's a different deal if you've never done it. I use 6, 8, 10 & 12 lb leaders on my spinning gear for brown bass. 8 & 10 Tatsu or InvisX FC for Jerkbaits & tubes. 10 & 12 lb Maxima Ultragreen for topwater walkers & poppers. My 'lightest' deals get 6 lb Ultragreen for drop shot, hair jigs, Ned rigs & spybaits. The 6 lb Maxima & the 8 lb Tatsu have the same diameter, but the knot strength on the Mono is IMO WAY BETTER than the FC, especially in the lighter line tests. So when I get under 8 lbs I go with the mono. Finally, in the past I have used Berkley Big Game green for EVERYTHING listed above, and I caught plenty of fish. Fish Hard A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
Took an extra day off to fish again. Might be the last one of those for a while. Either way, wanted to switch it up just a little this morning. So I did a 20 Rep day. 20 repetitions on both working sets of 7 exercises. Big Fun. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
