The Blade Bait Parade ~
Weird for me too. I fish hard ALL day today. Found Bait, Found Bass but not together. Both seemed to be sunning themselves on long sandy points is 5-8 ft with weeds. Saw some real brutes; like 3 separate schools of 15 -20 fish , all looked 5 plus. I almost swallowed my tongue and fell out of the boat. Threw everything I had - 1 dink on a little jerkbait. Tomorrow's a carbon copy of today weather wise so no go for me. Sunny, Hot, No wind. - Recipe for NO BASS BITE. Might take another whack at them on Wednesday. Water temps were high 50's, blade bait time is still a couple of week away here. A-Jay

What gear ratio for Alabama rigs
I use 6:6 to 1. Started using 20 fc but have stitched to 17 FC, spooled on a 200 size reel. More info here _ A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
This Total Body training felt pretty good. Seems my best results come when I resist the urge to 'do more'. Which usually leads to over training. #borninfiftynine A-Jay

Working to Stay Lean ~
If you're serious about taking control of your heath & diet, IME, there's nothing really 'easy' about any of it; especially in the beginning. If it were, 80% of this country wouldn't be clinically obese. Long term / Life Long Success only comes when one makes this a priority and a life style. I posted my version a few times. Below is the latest one. Also I prescribe to just about everything in the video linked below. It's not magic or any type of secret - just the honest truth. https://youtu.be/vEA9EZXyVqM The video is 20 minutes or so - If a man did and lived everything in it, he'd get where he wanted to be and most importantly, he'd stay there. Good Luck A-Jay

I recognize that face. In fact I know it well and expect to be sporting myself early tomorrow morning. Air temp here early should be at or below freezing. But I found so much bait I have no choice but to go back and fish it. Hope I get at least one. Congrats A-Jay

Fluorocarbon life?
Can't speak as to the condition of your leader line. I run a FC as well as Mono leaders. Use the FC until it's gone, usually 2 seasons. The mono box usually get replaced every spring regardless of what's on the spools. Big Game especially, but Ultragreen seems to last a little longer. A-Jay

Top water for pressured water
A couple of those baits are 10+ years old and have had multiple hardware changes. btw Pike will hammer them in cool water, lost quite a few. Hate using wire on them as it's the one bait that the AFW actually jacks up the action of. A-Jay

Top water for pressured water
One bait that's not exactly a topwater but runs a foot or so under the surface and then suspends Right There on the pause, is the Rapala X-Rap Sub Walk. Been throwing this one for going on 15 years now. Why it gets no love I'll never understand. This this is the very definition of subtle. Acts like a slow motion jerkbait with a wild little strike getting shimmy/roll on the pause. Effective almost anytime in skinny water but excels for me early & late season. Rapala no longer makes a 'smaller' offering in the freshwater line but does have one in their saltwater line of Sub Walks. Same bait. (box on the left, top two rows) Sizes 07 & 09 work for me. Either way, I highly recommend changing out the hooks to quality trebles. A-Jay

Dream living/fishing location!
I wouldn't live there. Not my style. But I've been visiting Lake Baccarac Lodge at least once a year since 2013. Never had or heard of a problem. My trips were always a great time with a kind of bass fishing that's hard to believe. It's not the most expensive trip out that but definitely not the cheapest either. There's been some recent major upgrades/Improvements to the lodge & facility that are really nice. It's the best place on this planet that I know of where on a 4-6 day trip an angler has a Very Realistic opportunity for at least one Double Digit Bass. I've said this a few times here, if you can swing it - just go. A-Jay

late start in the fall?
A few places still have an early morning deal for me but they are almost always super short lived. Then it's several hours until there's any more action. So I like the 10 to 5 pm shift this time of year. My best stuff often turns on about 2 hours before sunset. And ends right after the sun dips behind the tree line, which can be at least a couple of hours BEFORE sunset depending on the lake. Either way, I'll get to put all this 'theory' to the test tomorrow. Plan on looking for them on main lake points and deep flats. Blade Baits, Rattle Baits & Swimbaits. A-Jay

Coping with chronic heart ache ~
Thank you for thinking of us and hope you and Dee are getting a chance to smile a bit here and there. Scheduled round of chemo yesterday. 6 hours this time. New heart meds seem to be helping but we're playing our cards very close to the vest, meaning we're taking it slow. A-Jay
