  1. I've been using one of these for a while. Super basic, fast and effective. Especially when I have several reels to strip line off. Seems a bit over priced now, especially for what it is. https://charkbait.com/products/line-off-line-remover?srsltid=AfmBOoowIjOKZCxLHSxsaD3xnUKaR_BVQozAAA8P268NtLrO657Kkjxj A-Jay

  3. The advice offered in my first response here regarding not eating spicy food before a trip out onto the open ocean, was not that this would somehow be a cure. Instead, it's because Komodo Dragon Chili rarely tastes/feels as good coming back up as it did going down. A-Jay
  4. Been a mostly hectic and wild spring here. Insanely destructive ice storm dropped thousands of trees on 168 boating access points in the 12 surrounding counties, including the one we live in. The Boat ramps were finally cleared and opened several weeks AFTER pre-spawn bite started. Don't want to sound like a whiner but it Really was giant downer; still is as the clean up here will take most of my time. The few times I did manage to get out, I mined up a couple of the brown bass I always hope to find. My next realistic shot at plus size fish will be in August. Going to be a long summer. A-Jay

  7. After enjoying a couple of much needed off days, I was back in the home gym for Workout Day 1. While I actually like the Inverted Cable Rows, starting off with a Leg Press always gets my attention. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  8. Try going to 15 lb and see how it goes. IME - you'll still get all the bites with a small bump up in line test. After all, my A-Rig has 5 paddletails, looks fairly ridiculous, and when the smallies here hit it, they just about rip the rod out of my hands. Either way, when using FC or mono, my best success comes when I remember to REEL THROUGH THE HOOKSET. When I stop reeling and go for the Hollywood Hookset, I don't do so good. Best of Luck A-Jay
  9. I thought he displayed great restraint and I can respect that. As for you sir, is hosehead a word ? 😁 A-Jay

  11. You're on one heck of a heater ! Nicely Done. At this rate, won't be long before Tammy will need to do a figure 8 with your chow before you'll eat it . . . . Congrats Brother, Keep it going . . . . A-Jay

  14. Anti- Sea Sick Tips ~ Nothing works for everyone ~ Some folks get sick - some do not. I've never witnessed a chronic sea sick person who sudden got over it because they use some special remedy. It's the motion of the ocean and sometimes if it's hot out on the water that can contribute. But cold weather events are also quite common. My advice is to not drink alcohol for a few days in advance of your outing and definitely not while underway. Follow your normal routine but eat mild, non-spicy foods the day before. Stay on deck, keep the wind in your face (unless you're actually chumming it up) and don't stare down at the ocean/waves. Try not to focus on not getting sick - Good Luck ,have fun and please say hello to Merrill for me. A-Jay

  17. And this is how it went. It was a gorgeous warm flat calm morning - and I mean Zero Wind and BUGS ! Lots of Bugs. Started out throwing a 3/8 oz wiggle wagon. I caught a pike. Then I caught another pike. Then another one. And another one And another one And another one And another one And another one, Well, I think you got the idea. Went through 4 ft of AFW wire, 4 baits (skirts chewed off) and 1/2 dozen Zako trailer on top of that. Did I mention it was a pike day ? Good times. A-Jay

  19. Made it to Workout Day 5 some how. The rows, press & curls were OK but the core work was definitively a little brutal. Taking two days off. Be back in the home gym on the 17th. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
  20. Plan on being at my favorite spot on Lake Menderchuck at first light tomorrow morning. It's been a while, but I think I remember how to cast. Guess we'll find out. And yes, I do have a mouse in my pocket. A-Jay
  21. Nicely Done. First time for me seeing 2 muskie in one net. Pretty cool. So is it fish of 10,000 casts or fish of a dozen crappie near an oak tree ? You decide. Congrats and good luck the rest of the week. A-Jay
  22. All of this make perfect sense to me and perhaps any anyone else who works on eliminating risk and not just trying to manage it. btw - consider carrying a few spare trailer wheel lug nuts with you on the road. Don't ask me why A-Jay
  23. Good luck and I hope the weather is very fisherman friendly for you guys. A-Jay

  25. Workout Day 4 on this super sunny, summer-like Monday. Still feeling my way through this workout. Especially since I haven't done a few of these movements for a couple of months. Pretty sure I'll feel the results of that tomorrow even though I tried my best to restrain myself. #borninfiftynine A-Jay
