  1. Hang in there, you are in my prayers. Grateful no one was hurt
  2. Jigs have become my weapon of choice Thanks to the help of many especially Russ and Catt! Boy these guys have patience! I have found through switching up that I actually do prefer Flooger Trions( especially like the centrifugal brakes over magnetic / hybirds) and the Flooger Trion Spinning reel as well as the President. I am most comfortable with 6'6" rods as I have some shoulder and elbow issues going on Spinnerbaits have finally worked thioer way into my tacklebag I love 5inch watermelon/purple and 4 inch Shimmer Shad Tick Stiks
  3. Yeah Once I get some debt straightend out i am working with 4 Bizzle's advice and next season will bring a swim bait outfit in the spring
  4. I understnd that, but I get mooked out once in a while, you know what I mean. We both call and depend on each other but locally and longevity it is good to have a Dirk around, and it is a good thing to take time and aknowledge him. This is now getting too Dr.Phil for me ;D
  5. Hey Fellas; What baits do you always have rigged when you go out? Does not have to be a specific brand, but type of bait. I usually have 5 rigs Spinning with a Rapala #11 or a smaller wacky rigged worm The 4 Baitcasters: 5 inch Trick Stick Crank 2 types of jig heads and trailers in mid summer this switches up from a crank to topwater plugs at night and one jig rod gets a l spinnerbait and sometimes a frog Shore Fishing; I have an old metal single drawer OLDTOWN tackle box, with a good pond assortment One rod and reel, mostly the spinning rig
  6. Iknow what you mean LBH. I am fortunate enough to have 3 guys who if I were in a fox hole these are the 3 I would hope to be in with Steve,Mark and Gil. Gil has one drawback, he doesn't fish, we think it is somekind of genetic disorder. We have been through years and years of the ups and downs of lifes journeys, The weird thing is sometimes one of us is jammed up and the others just show up, on time and ready to go. Just a few months ago I was visiting a hospital, one of my JobCorps Kids was in, on the way down and out the hosptal the elevator door opened and there was Mark, pushed me back in and said "WE gotta go upstairs" We go to the 5tth floor into a room and his daughter is in the bed and hands Mark his first grandson. Just to be there and see the gratitude and love on his face brought us both to tears. Then he tells the poor kid " This is your Uncle Dominick, if you are in a jam call him" and I lost it. This is a wonderful thread and it is a good thing to recognize Dirk, it shows your character, as these things frequently go unsaid between the fellas, WELL DONE RUSS!
  7. PM SENT , PLEASE REPLY. I AM EEO OFFICER AT MY JOB SITE
  8. Ah I don't know this thread is too similar to a fella asking the guys if his pants make his butt look big
  9. Or A Detroit Tigers cap ala Magnum PI ;D
  10. BUT >>>NOOOOOOOO, You Hadda Bite it anyway ;D
  11. Zambrano threw that no-no because he had great stuff that day, there are no excuses in baseball
  12. I don't take narcotic pain meds either. The trick is to take it a day at a time, and focus on what is better tody than it was yesterday. Hey Robet tell Gidget she can call or PM anytime for support.
  13. Great post, very funny gets 2 of these Warning to Ghotti: If ever fishing the same body of water with 4 bizzle I would watch for a hard swimbait thrown in your direction ;D
  14. I tried the glass thing and was very satisfied with the Browning Silaflex. I have since hurt my sholder and elbow, hoping the winter brings enough healing that surgery will not be needed The glass rods are way heavier and I have learned to be a little easier with my hookset and I use a 6'6" Cabelas Fish Eagle II Med/Fast and I now have the same hook ups as with the glass rods with a lot less weight to deal with. Rod weight was not an issue but the older I get and the more I fish it has become a major factor in rod choice.
  15. 5 inch Watermelon/purple swirl *** on a 4/0 EWG , WEIGHTLESS t rigg: as for no wieght not being a t rig, both Zel and Speedbead have seen this in action and it is deadly! 6.5 inch *** Brush bugs both weighted and unweighted if weighted either 1/8 or 1/4 ounce weight *** Ripple Tail worms, Zoom Trick Worms or a Manns Jelly Worm, Old Style Straight Shanked worm hook and if wighted 1/4 ounce weight
  16. I'll havta agree with ya their!! ;D I would like to hear your experience with both the weighted and unweighted snapper, how did you reach this conclusion?
  17. Hey Burley; I love all Tobassco. If you have never gone to and have the chance gotta go visit Avery Island, you can smell the process all over the place!
  18. Well it happened just like I said it would,Mets 1/2 game out and soon to fade even more. On the other hand congrats to you Cub's fans, you have been waiting long enough!
  19. How's she doing today Robert, first few days after major surgery are the hardest. Still in my thoughts and prayers
  20. x2 x3, HOWEVER HE DID NOT ASK ABOUT SHIMANO REELS. The choices were BPS, Cabelas or Gander Mountain. I have never used Gander Mountain or Cabelas but Muddy uses Cabelas Prodigy reels exclusively and loves them. I have casted the Johnny Morris Elite a few times and it felt good. I think house brand reels are limited to performance because they are made cheaper, thats why i stick with Shimano Or Abu Garcia. Muddy will let you know about the Cabelas reels. Actually I have gone back to my FLOOGER TRIONS. It was a good experiment ,but with 2 Prodigy/Fish Eagle II on the bottom of the lake I feel as thoguh the fish gods were sending me a message I liked both the BPS Extremes and the Prodigys. I did find after a season of use that I far prefered the Trions. I especially do not care for magnetic or hybrid brake systems. I like the old fashioned Centrafugals much better. I get a Trion .Leave 4 on and 2 off and I am set to go. That being said if I had to choose between these 2 reels The Extremes win out because BPS Services them and Cabelas gave me a list of service centers, none of whom had parts if needed.
