  1. wouldnt the sun beaming in on the line cause issues since its left in the car all day?
  2. ive seen alot of people recommend these kayaks for beginners since they go on sale pretty cheap at dicks. ive also seen some comment about it being a two piece mold and can have leak issues. i would only be fishing lakes in it and have just enough gear to fish for the day. any comments? http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2010452
  3. ;D i was thinking lake johnson , sorry LOL. im dropping the fiance off at work tomorrow , then ill be hitting up whatever spots i can find at wheeler and benson. i should be getting out there around 9ish. any idea how the fishing is there?
  4. not really a true swimbait , but the swimming senko has brought me in some good sized fish. cheaper than the rest too.
  5. What part of the lake are you shore fishing? not sure yet. im still very new to the area , so where ever i can find a spot i guess. i found a small lake and pond by the house , so i may give that a shot tomorrow.
  6. no boat yet , so im shorebound. i was planning on going to jordan this week , harris is a bit farther.
  7. great thread. ive always wanted to learn how to fish jigs and spinners , but never picked up a pack. i guess its just me being lazy and not wanted to learn something else when what i know now has produced fish. i will give it a shot some day..
  8. i almost always use my 5' ul rod. ive cought 2-3+lb peacock bass with it ,a 4-5lb carp and tons of crappie/brim. and i can say that its VERY fun. but like raul said , its not enough rod for larger fish. the main reason i do use it though , is because of the weight. its very comfortable to fish with all day and being a 2 piece can make it fit in anyones car.

ive always wanted to get a a pair of RX polarized whiskers. did you go directly through oakley? or though a company like lenscrafters.
  10. how far are you from the 40/42 intersection? where do you usually go?
  11. im ready!!!! got my non-resident license , but im still legal to fish. tomorrow , my father in-law and i are probably going to hit up wheeler but we have johnson , benson and bass lake bear by. im right by the 40/42 intersection , so if anyone is down for some fishing in that area , let me know.
  12. the eagle gt looks good..
  13. thanks. that compre seems to be what i would need then. i already have a 6' M compre as my casting rod , and ive been pleased with it so far.
  14. this compre seems to fit my needs... CPS60ML2B 6'0" Medium Light Fast 4-10 Line 1/16-3/8 Lure Weight 2 Piece
  15. i understand. but im sure some tips are more stiff than others which is why im asking. im only down to 2 rigs. a 6' M casting that covers 1/4oz and up and whatever i do with this one. i would still like to be able to throw 1/16oz cranks , but i would also like to be able to set a hook deep without throwing my back out. would i be better off with a ML action rod? i mainly fish soft plastics and cranks..
  16. ive fished t-rigs on my UL rod without any problems.
  17. thought about it , but they dont have a 2 piece light rod. the compre does - CPS66L2B . but unless i can find one used thats in good condition , im looking elsewhere. ive never seen or heard anything about those damiki rods. they do look nice though..
  18. i bought a bottle from boaters world when they went out. it seems to work just fine. just when the line hits the water , there is alot of residue in the water. i question if the bass see/smell it also. ive never used any other line conditioner though , so i dont know if thats common.
  19. those cought my eye as well. along with the allstar gt40x and the fenwick eagle gt. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_97971____SearchResults?ordProd=Y&CMID=BOTTOM_selectitems#itemDetail http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?id=0071644124742a&navCount=7&podId=0071644&parentId=cat20374&masterpathid=&navAction=jump&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat20168-cat20374&catalogCode=XK&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20374 http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_103653_100002002_100000000_100002000_100-2-2?ordProd=Y&CMID=BOTTOM_selectitems#itemDetail
  20. so im looking around for a rod to match my abu cardinal 801. i would like a 5'6" to 6'6" 2 piece rod for under $70. so far the only thing that really catches my eye are the st croix triumph TRS66LF2. any input on these rods? this will be used for anything under 1/4oz from cranks to t-rigs.
  21. never fished a jig , and never cought anything on a trick stick so ive given quite a few out. swimming senkos cought me some decent sized peacocks though.
  22. have you seen the 'remix' of the slap chop commercial? lmfao! i first seen it on espn watching the xgames. greatest ever.
  23. i always like the 'if its made in america , its better' arguments. obviously , parts/materials/assembling is cheaper over seas. as long as quality control is met (or exceeded) to the company standards , its just as good as anywhere else. notice how most of your electronics (and just about everything else) are made over there ....
